Re: The Video Game Thread - What Are We Playing?

Every now and then I play TripleA, which is basically the board game Axis & Allies but on the computer. Oh that's awesome, and it's free? Putting that on my list. I've got a friend who plays A&A a couple times a year, and he's always telling me how crazy it is, and how games can span an entire week...

Re: The Video Game Thread - What Are We Playing?

On the Switch, I've been exploring Dragon Quest XI. Damn I forgot all about DQ. I put a lot of time into it last winter/spring, but got sidetracked and never finished it. Probably because my Switch became a dedicated Animal Crossing machine once quarantine started. Definitely enjoyed it though - an...

The Video Game Thread - What Are We Playing?

Between quarantine, holidays, and a bit of a lull in SWCCG action, I figure I'm not the only one who's been playing more games recently. This topic comes up from time to time in Slack, but figured it might be good to have a dedicated thread the way we do for music/tv/etc, and I couldn't find an old ...

Re: Playtesting booster from Worlds

Are there any spoiler lists of the cards? Haven't seen any text spoilers yet, although I imagine someone will start compiling that once more packs are out in the wild. Like Corran said, they're preview slips, text subject to change, etc. etc. As mentioned, Holotheater had an interview this past wee...

Re: The Mandalorian (*spoilers* for released episodes only)

Elements of Star Wars is fine and expected. Go back to Tatooine. Show Tusken Raiders and Krayt Dragons. Show species, locales, creatures, starships, etc. that we know. All cool stuff. There's a difference between doing that and having to show us R5-D4, bringing Fett back, Ahsoka/Luke, etc. It just ...

Re: The Mandalorian (*spoilers* for released episodes only)

Most of that episode was just okay for me - group of 4-6 infiltrate Imperial stronghold for the 5th week in a row, shoot a bunch of troopers, ho hum. Still not sure what the Dark Troopers were. Thought they were supposed to be Force-sensitive (isn't that why they needed Grogru?), but that never got...

Re: 2020 Best Albums thread

Ditto. My daily commute was always my time to queue up new music, I’ve missed that. Keep telling myself I’ll do it at home, but get distracted by 6 hour TRs, Holotheaters, and Kendall interviewing the entire community :-D

Following this thread for some good recommendations though.

Re: 2020 OCS FEEDBACK

Lower clocks - 40:00 per side. 5 months w/ 3 qualifiers each + 1 season-long at-large (still start w/ February) Agree with both of these. Especially if TMW may still be a thing next summer, or even Nationals in July....be nice to have OCS wrapped by June. And less work for the folks doing foils/pri...

Re: How many LSJK and Emperors should you have?

Emperors - 5 is fine. AOBS is really the only deck that still runs more than 2-3, and I haven't seen a build with 6 in a while. Some even get by with 4. LSJK - Again, 5 is fine and standard for most HITCO builds right now. Could get by with 4 and a LSRS(v), not optimal but at least you can re-draw h...

Re: Disney Announces Upcoming Projects

I dunno... Disney really likes to announce stuff. That's pretty much my takeaway from it. Not to dampen the excitement for anyone else, but feel like we've been down this road before of cool project announcement, get hyped, radio silence for a year or two, and then a quiet press release pulling the...

Re: Collection shelf help

There was a thread on this last year that you might find helpful - https://forum.starwarsccg.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=74132&p=1281787 In particular another poster tried another Ikea cabinet, with some DIY foam dividers, and imo it turned out pretty good. I got an Ikea roller unit. The drawers are dee...

Re: New Gemp Images

C-slip unless we're going to change the stance on printing out full-slips for IRL events (which I'd be really happy with, because * cutting c-slips).

Full slip looks cooler, but consistency matters.

So....little disappointed the episode was on the shorter side, got spoiled by the 40+ minute ones we have for most (all?) of this season. That said....

Re: Coruscant League 2020 Event #4 (Open, OCS-style)

Means there are no scheduled pairings, you just put up a table whenever you feel like playing a game, and if someone else from the league is online and wants to play, they can join it. I assume that if we wanted to arrange/schedule a match with someone, that’s okay? Not allowed in OCS, but with fewe...

Re: The Mandalorian (*spoilers* for released episodes only)

Best episode so far, made me excited for this series again, which I really hadn't been since the middle of S1. Particularly loved the dual duels at the end - one a samurai-style showdown, the other an old western standoff. Both paying homage to two of Star Wars biggest influences. Nice touch. Dawson...
