Re: January 7th Deck Building Challenge

They could just call it the Holotheatre Challenge of the Month. That way it's as open as possible to whatever they want to do.

Re: New official era names

While I'm kind of ambivalent on the actual era names (probably better to transition from Ep1/Ep7 since, well, General Grievious is not from Episode 1, nor is Allegiant General Pryde from Episode 7, but the time period rather than the actual Episode number is what matters), I do agree with the larger...

Re: So what is actually NPE?

For example, before it was shielded, playing 2x Goo Nee Tay in WYS (so it couldn't be canceled by Alter). I think paying +2 is annoying, but there is still counterplay....generating a ton and paying +2. The issue is that this counterplay only works if you can generate extra force, which the 7 side ...

Re: Batmouse's 5th Gempc

Yeah, I agree on the no consolation bracket. It's a long enough event with enough overhead and it's not really worth the headache of doing for all the reasons stated above.

Dark side Hoth stuff The Shield Will Be Down In Moments (0) Deploy Hoth System, 1st Marker and 4th Marker. May deploy (9) Prepare For A Surface Attack and/or Target The Main Generator. While this side up, your 4th Marker gains one (LS) icon. Opponent loses no Force from Rebel Base Occupation or You...

I really wanted to troll and have my name displayed just as "Justin" but decided against it. We haven't had the Name Grudge Match event yet :)

Re: Alt format: Limited Resources Format Now LIVE on GEMP

Imperial Arrest Order and Insurrection are Endor cards, not Death Star II Big shoutout to the proofing team ;) I was really surprised by the diversity of decks played over the weekend. (Lots of Dark Deal on day 1) Also surprised no brangus or ketwol have been played yet  Is TRM playable? Wha...

Re: Alt format: Limited Resources Format Now Live on GEMP

Seems to me like the hand-size capping is far more important. I honestly don't really care if someone's playing multiples. We do have grabbers if it's an Interrupt, and if they wanted to build their deck around Lord Vader or something and have 4 of them in hand, I say go for it.

Re: Are V-cards always better than the underlays?

Yeah it’s pretty case-by-case, mostly when it’s a half-slip, keeping the name but changing the game text. You may need to check those to see which version is better. Admiral Ozzel, Arica, and Darth Vader are good examples of that. Grand Admiral Thrawn is a rare instance where the underlying card is ...

Re: 2.0

Feels like you can shorten your text on the starting effects: "Your [Maintenance] cards are deploy +1 and destiny -1." I don't see much value in leaving open the possibility of later designing Maintenance cards that dodge the restrictions anyway, so no sense in writing it all out when you can just k...

Re: 25th World Championship- Final Schedule & Information

Since we are still two weeks out, I'd like to visit one point: •Decks will not be posted for any day until the conclusion of Day 3 (Rule was subsequently changed after discussion, and lists were posted.) Revisiting this, what did people think of the posting of decklists, both between days 1 & 2, an...

Re: 2020 OCS FEEDBACK

Depending on scheduling for the year, I could see doing a more blitz-style OCS with fewer months as suggested. Main reason for that is, if we're getting back to being able to do live majors again, I agree it would be cool if, say, July was Continentals Month, August was Euros, September was MPC, Oct...

Re: Congrats Joe Olson

Congrats Joe! I actually feel like you trounced me hard enough on day 1 that I re-considered my deck choices, thinking if everyone was playing HDv vs HITCO at that level, I'm going to be massively outmatched. As it turns out, it may have just been that you were playing at another level from everyone...

Re: Podcast Incubator?

I once asked if the streaming commentary could be put in an audio only format but was told that that doesn't make the PC any money. A shame really. Probably more meant as a "we don't have time for that, and it doesn't make money so it isn't a priority". I'd guess the listening numbers for that woul...

Re: Help me with shields and casual play

A "healthy" game must have more avenue to win than merely Vader or Luke stacked at a site... What does that say about the current HITCO and HDv meta? [emoji848] There's plenty of other ways to win! For instance, you can stack 30 ISB agents at a site, or 15 Resistance characters, or 20 Rebel spies a...

Do you still have the final standings with the SOS details? We may need those tiebreaker for next weekend Was this posted anywhere? I forgot to start it this round so I'll do it for next round, but for those watching my stream I'll run the following promotion: at the start of the round, viewers should name who the winner of the game will be. Whoever picks the most winners over the course of my stream for the day will win the pack!

Re: Heat One - Saturday 10AM CET - Pairings/Standings Thread

The software does not like going into game 6 with an odd number. It spit out 3 byes for me as well, when it should have paired 2 of those players up based on sides. I think we just didn't catch this for Heat 1. It also apparently doesn't catch giving a player the bye twice. I don't know how the log...

Re: Help me with shields and casual play

If you plan to play two prebuilt decks against each other and you like the way they play without shields, you probably don't need shields. Decks with shields have a notable power increase over those that don't, simply because of the grabber, plorder, resistance, SAC, coward, etc. However, if you do...
