Fanfare(v) shield and Ice Storm

In a game where I pulled a shield to pull Fanfare(v) to cancel an already deployed Ice Storm, gemp repeatedly tried to cancel Ice Storm and it was repeatedly unsuccessful. No possibility of either play taking an action or reverting. We tried refreshing and closing out of the game and starting a new ...

Re: Set 12 Spoilers

Candidate sites to deploy would be: Any Cloud City or Death Star battleground. Invisible Hand sites Starkiller Base: Shield Control Most docking bays Lars’ Moisture Farm Not a whole lot of great options. Cloud City seems the most likely sites to deploy for this, as expected. I think you are underes...

Re: OA versus ROPs

I don't think the matchup is that brutal. The plan for OA should be to flip quick, let ROPs flip initially, then try to flip them back and get control of ralltiir system and try to keep it that way. You also want to try to deactivate domination with more locations. You have to plan carefully to avoi...

Re: What should my next Dark Side deck be?

Hoth Cr(v) is tempting, but EBO will make you sad. Ask Jacy about Endor this year. Why? Imperial Decree rules. Because most EBO have an enormous number of ships and outpower most space substantially. It tain't the drains that will kill you You could just stick to your Walkers on Hoth, deal damage, ...

Re: Batmouse’s 3rd Gempc results thread

I beat Greg Shaw. I won the first game by 18. I managed to guarantee he would win the second game by less (although he likely would have won that the second game), so he conceded. Here are the gameplay links: Game 1 https://gemp.starwarsccg.org/gemp-swccg/game.html?replayId=aeneas23$z34ying07rsmg4hb...

Re: 2019 OCS Details

11 turns is a fine amount to play in a game. Issue was more that they had like no cards in lost pile, and that the winner is determined differently from IRL. It comes down to the question, do we want GEMP to resemble IRL more or be its own thing more. except the gemp games are already way different...

Re: 3rd Gempc Bracket + prediction

If you check out my Twitch channel, you can watch my stream from tonight where I filled out my bracket. (link below in my signature) Certainly surprised at where some of the people ended up, and it definitely makes for some very difficult Round 1/Round 2 matchups. (Shaw vs Nick Reisch in round 1? T...

Re: 2019 OCS Mini-Game Reports

Watched a really fun game last night with wend's 12 card HD dueling that had Imperial Domination vs. aeneas23's HITCO. The two fought over the Ewok Village the entire game (neither player deployed a bg site), there were zero force drains, and: LS won after doing an impressive clear of Emp Palp, Lor...

Re: 2019 OCS Scoreboard Watching

Confirmed that it is definitely something that happens and that I have done minor versions of it, similar to what jarjar drinks describes. But it is limited to situations when there are less people in the lobby. That's why I think that it impacts European folks more. The window of big activity is ha...

Re: Grade Eight

Your first sentence is 100% wrong. There is no chance that a particular card would be changed based on anything I said. It has never happened even when the problems with the card were super-obvious. If by "it has never happened" you mean "it's happened in every single set since the reset" then you'...

Re: Grade Eight

Seems to me like there's a line somewhere between "these cards are overpowered" and "these cards are overpowered because the PC is too prideful." I think Chris was asking for an evaluation of the cards, rather than an attack on the character of the designers. :??? I don't agree that it is "an attac...

Re: Grade Eight

Hubris from the PC. Pure and simple.

This set changes too much too fast.

I would be very surprised not to see way overpowered decks resulting from this set. There will be AT LEAST one errata, likely more than one.
