Re: Retro/Alternate Format Event on GEMP?

There’s a formats JSON file in gemp that defines the valid sets, etc. per format. If someone in gemp development updates that file, that is all that should be needed to fix any incorrect format definitions.

My latest project

Hi, everyone! First off, a little background info. Little did I know at the same time I was transitioning off my development role on GEMP, my daughter was about develop an unusual medical condition that took us 18 months from the initial symptoms to properly diagnose and then treat. We're very thank...

Re: LOTR TCG Player's Committee(?!)

Ah, yes. I remember trying to get this started back in 2009. After a couple years filled with lots of effort and no traction, I finally just moved on and decided to do something for SWCCG instead. ;-)

Re: Operatives?

I'm having some 2nd thoughts about undoing the rules when I consider my friends playing Prem-DS2 and Prem-Ref2 on GEMP. They can't just pull out a No Escape shield and Leave Them To Me shield when they see Operatives. Although they probably do have No Escape effect in their decklist, and can flex s...

Re: Operatives?

3. "Camp" #3 - (Possibly only me) Quietly delete the operative rules because they aren't necessary to keep the deck in check. Whether you then go on to actually make the decks good or just leave them as "still very unplayable" is like an afterthought to me. Yeah, I'm with you there. Less stuff to h...

Re: Operatives?

This is really the biggest reason I wish there was a way to make operatives playable. It would open up a half dozen potential platforms to try on each side without having to design a brand new objective for each one. Would be cool to have a little temporary "fix Operatives design sub-committee" tha...

When an acronym is used to spell something seemingly clever, but it's pretty obvious they started with the acronym in mind and then had to figure out words that fit to make it sound good enough. Happens regularly with government legislation. (Examples: SMART Act -> "Strengthening Medicare and Repayi...

Re: Hypothetical tweaks

100% agree. It would make perfect sense for each set release to be accompanied by a list of erratas/changes, even outright banning of older cards. Prove me wrong, but I'm sure that would help the work of D&D by reducing the pressure on design space. I mean, its not like we are spending millions in ...

Re: Hypothetical tweaks

I like all of those, Baity. Nice work. Often cards aren't ideal on the first try, even after D&D + playtesting is done. Sometimes it takes a year to figure that out. It'd be useful to have the ability to look back on a regular basis and: 1) Nerf a few OP cards 2) Improve a few weak cards 3) Remove ...

Re: Agents of the Black sun decides to no longer recognize bounty hunters as agents

It would be interesting if after this happens if someone tried reverting to before it happened to see if it works properly and then breaks again at the same point. (See the Force generation # change due to Coruscant losing icons seems to be a good way to notice it happen.)

Re: power creep is a helluva drug - SPOILER - Set 11

FWIW, I think wording it like Projective Telepathy would be crystal clear (and effectively work the same way).

"Once per game, if opponent just initiated battle at Bespin system, may make opponent choose to use 3 Force (or 15 Force if Executor there), or cancel that battle."
