Re: Tatooine

But if it was clearly a bug, who cares if it was "known" or not? If a bug occurs, and can be avoided, it should be. If it can't be avoided, oh well. I don't understand what is wrong with that policy, but I'm willing to listen to counter examples. If a clear big occurs and you can fix with a revert,...

Re: Tatooine

and what about competing bugs? So early in the game ls player benefits from a bug, both players agree it shouldn't work that way but there isn't a revertable answer.. well later on in the game, a battle at tatooine happens and gmt lights up... one player thinks it's fair to "even things out" and the...

Re: Tatooine

If there's a disagreement about a bug, and the person saying it's a bug can't link to a thread, you don't revert. If both players agree it's a bug, you should revert. Let's start here and see if there's any common ground. Does anyone disagree with: "If both players agree it's a bug, you should reve...

Re: Tatooine

One of the issues with every single disagreement in this game is the assumption that just because your points make sense that:

A. The other side of things doesn't also make sense
B. Everyone who disagrees with your points, because they are "right", must be morally compromised if they disagree.

Re: Tatooine

First of all, I check most new bugs that are posted to the gemp bugs forum and even I don't know all the bugs that are "known" there. There are so many from before the pc inherited gemp. So that's not reasonable to assume everyone knows every bug. Second, there's no rules confirmation that every bu...

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

Outliers of people beating people through deck switching will always occur here and there.. but being able to switch in short time frames gives the larger teams a large and unneccesary leg up.

But yeah, just crossing fingers for no spec.

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

It seems like all the options other than limiting spectators is heavily flawed. "Why not use gempc changing of deck rules until top 4." - I just listed some directly above that I think are good reasons not to allow this, but the biggest thing is that this IS going to be closer to the real MPC than t...

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

Ok so initially I liked the concept of switching decks in between rounds up until it dawned on me it just widens the gap between the people who are good but don’t have a larger team and those that do. Their team can just throw huge braintrust on what that person might play and can tune multiple deck...

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

So, story time for people who like this type of thing and how all of these scouting things can go multiple ways: At the very event that Eric posted (hidden decklists - prior to their switchover- decklists still provided to top 8 but that's always been how they do their top 8s {static, but public} on...

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

I think if this continues to be a point a major contention and the no spectators thing isn't viable, that's the best fair way to do it Brian.

How do we handle hand size and grimtaash and monnok? Are those now must plays for both sides?

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

I agree with Joe that I'd rather do the no spectators thing but I didn't think that was feasible if this is what we were told. I'd assume it was discussed and met with some resistance that made it not an option. Let's wait and see. The Gemp team is pretty damn awesome. If it isn't technically possi...

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

I can't wait to play each game with my opponent's deck list pulled up on another screen so I can make sure they don't have outs. Sounds fun! Yeppp. I'm totally playing differently if I know they have monnok, or ghhhk. If I see on the edge, preemptively pulling code clear. Etc. No decklists preserve...

I think there is no real good answer here unfortunately.
Why not disable spectators so there's no scouting possible?
Oh yeah if they can do that then that is the good answer.

Re: Official Online MPC Rules

Eric's argument that the pubic nature of lists will change both gameplay and deck construction is accurate. The ripple effects of public decklists in MTG are largely the same though, There's tons of surprises in mtg and knowing if they are coming or not is what causes the change to gameplay and deck...
