OMTS #5 - MPC Format - FINAL Round Ends 4/26

It's time to kick off the 5th edition of the Online Major Tournament Series! This OMTS Tournament will be an MPC Format, to get people started thinking about the IRL MPC in early May. Registration is NOW open! Registration will officially close on FEBRUARY 13 at Noon EDT. Seeding will take place in the day or two following, and the first games will begin FEBRUARY 16.

Format:
Match Play, on Holotable

Bracket/Seeding:
Any number of people can join. If we have an odd number of people (ie, not 8/16/32/etc), the higher-seeded players will have a bye for the first round. After registration is closed, the participants will be seeded by a panel of experts

Consolation Bracket:
We WILL be doing a Consolation Bracket this year. Anyone knocked out in the first round will be eligible to play in the Consolation Bracket if they so desire. The original seeding rank will determine seeding for the Consolation Bracket.

The Games:
Since it's match play, you play one game with each side (higher seed chooses which side first). Keep track of differential at the end of each game, and if the games are split 1-1, the player with higher total differential from the two games wins and goes on to the next round. You will have 2 weeks to play each match. Keep track of both life force left, and then count your lost piles after each game and record that too. Post your results in this thread, or PM me directly. There is no time limit for games.

Note: If you no-show for your second game, you will forfeit the match. If you scoop partway through your first game, you will be awarded a loss by 30 diff for that game. DIFF MATTERS, AND COUNT YOUR LOST PILES.

Decks CAN be changed between matches, and between games within a match. When a new set becomes legal (and is available for use in Holotable), it is legal to use at the start of the next match (I'll post again when we're closer to the date of release)

Rulings:
For game rules, check the AR first. If there's still a disagreement, ruling questions should be posted with an "urgent" marker in the rules forum thread title, or pm'ed to someone on the Rules team. Games can be saved and later resumed if unable to reach a consensus without official word.

Tiebreakers:
If you tie games with your opponent (1-1), proceed to these tie-breakers
1) Life Force Differential total from both games
2) Less cards in lost piles total from both games
3) Worse seed (because that person had a theoretical harder game, facing a better seeded player)

Prizes:
First Place will receive an engraved trophy from the PC store, and either of: 1) a BYE to Worlds 2015, or 2) a new V-Card Design!
Second Place will receive either the BYE or V-Card design, whichever the first place player does not choose.
First Place in the Consolation Bracket will recieve $15 credit to be used in the PC Store
Any leftover money after paying for the above prizes will be paid out to 1st-4th places as credit to be used in the PC Store


POY/ROY points will be awarded with a multiplier of 1.0, same as States events.

I will be the TD, and all discrepancies and rulings related to tournament play and tournament rulings (not card/game rulings) will be at my sole discretion, in accordance with the Tournament Guide.

3) Your HT screen name, if it's different from your PC Forum screen name

The better seed picks which side of the force to play first. Both games do not have to be played in the same session, and decks can be switched between rounds. When you load decks in Holotable, the DS player loads first, in case the LS player wants to play HB and not give that information away by loading more cards than usual.

Count differential AND Lost Piles at the end of each game, and report them to me.

I'd love to get paired up against European players. Tis very difficult to work out the 5-8 hour time change. Several games from the last OMTS I played in were between the hour of 2-5 am and I even conceded one game. So yup, need more European players to sign up.
