I bought it used about 9 or 10 years ago.

Yeah, one time I went to visit my sister in Idaho and my brother-in-law had two copies. He said I could have one of them and was going to bring one home with me but totally forgot to put it in my bag before I left. They have since moved and it's probably lost or got donated to a thrift store or something. One of my biggest regrets.

Nevermind on the power strip. We have to use the hotels and have to pay the fee.

Is this in the contract that we signed? I would refuse to pay that. That's unbelievable.

It isn't the contract. Its the AV people.

I recommend we bring a power strip regardless just in case we can get out of this. That sounds horrendously dishonest.

What does "the AV people" mean? It doesn't seem like there should be a separate company running that. Don't pay that.

I don't recall any "AV people" in the contract.

Almost all hotels have a separate AV team that is contracted out. Some are done in house but a lot are 3rd party companies because it is cheaper for them.

The hotel I was at (Omni) mostly used 3rd party at all their hotels. We were one of the few that had internal IT in general. We also had a separate AV company that did the customer facing, while we handled mostly just internal and supporting AV when they needed help.

Most probably contract them out but have them appear to be part of their staff. Also, most will contract out the wifi support for rooms. So when you call the 1800 # for help, you're likely reaching a call center and someone that supports a lot of companies.

besides ensuring the room has the connection speed we need, what other services are the "AV people" providing?

I can understand if we were using their camera equipment, their computers, their sound equipment, their TVs, etc. but if we're providing all the hardware, then we shouldn't be required to use any of their equipment.

Can we get some more details on what all is going on with this aspect of the contract. As I will be on site, I'd like to know what they will and will not be providing.

Usually, they provide support for the line and internet. That is it and the extent of the needs we usually have. I think at Nats and MPC, I asked them to run the cable and tape it down (or I did that) and make sure the port we were plugging into was active and on the correct vlan. All of this is pretty minor work, which is why I'm surprised at their charges. At other places, this is usually like 100 a day at most.

When I saw the cost for the power adapter, I knew this place was likely gouging on the charges. There is very likely little we can do. Its their hotel, their service and their fee. Feel free to talk to them on site and see if you can get it lowered though. I really can't believe there is this much of a diff in price at Hyatt Regencies. The MPC one charges 100 a day for 30 up/down. I got it for 30 because they were awesome.

Hey, I really need these cards for Worlds. If anyone can bring them it would REALLY help:
Short Range Fighters (x2)
Neimodian Advisor (x1)
Don't Tread On Me (x1)

Thank you in advanced.

Short Range Fighters combo or non-combo? Which specific event(s) do you need them for?

j/k N64 is incredible. But I couldn't imagine not owning goldeneye.
Perfect dark is basically the same game, some of the same maps even.

I have that, but even though perfect dark improved many of goldeneye's flaws, goldeneye remains most people's game of choice. It's just too much of a classic.

Sorry about that. I posted this to the wrong forum. If you still want to know, combo. The event I need them for is worlds.

He means which event at worlds... Day 1, team tournament, day 2? I'm not getting in until Friday night so I wouldn't be able to give cards to people for day 1 or team tournament.
