The big problem is a bunch of people that didn't pre-register, like RSmith and Mischke.

So it's hard to know who will be there, and even if you just list everyone, people with inside knowledge on attendees have an advantage, which isn't really fair.

that's 2 majors in a row for both of them, pre-registering for neither...hopefully this doesn't become the new trend.

Joe, if you are going to make excuses, kindly don't use me as one of them.

Tom K has run fantasy for many events and he always lists everyone. Players who don't play anymore, players who are geographically unlikely to attend... everyone. Really setting this up is about as simple as searching the forums for the last time he ran one, copy-pasting the list, and adjusting for recent events.

If you don't want to do it (I don't want to either), nobody is forcing you, dx_37 threw your hat in the ring, it is fine for you to say, "no thank you."

But to name me as a "big problem" and paint me as some kind of reason for why you won't do it, characterizes me negatively, and it's not appreciated. And why? Cuz I went to EGP and didn't pre-register? Really?

Something tells me if we went back thru pre-reg lists from, say, the last three years and compared them to the actual attendance, it would be apparent that this is hardly a "new trend." i'm filing this under the category of, another behavior that nobody raised an eyebrow about until 3MW0J8 did it.

I am picking:

Reid, Pete Srodoski, Chris Erwin, Brad Kipple.

No idea if Erwin or Kipple are going... but they're old Albany guys.

I wasn't saying it was a negative RSmith, just a reason why doing fantasy events is skewed/unfair. And I named you and Mischke because you are two top players who didn't pre-register.

If Joe Blow doesn't register, doesn't matter so much for fantasy. If Desai doesn't, and shows up and picks himself, that's a big advantage.

It's not an insult to name you here--if anything it's a compliment, that you two are big enough factors because of your playskill--it's just the case that when top contenders don't preregister, it makes those with inside info on attendance have an information advantage. That's just a fact, not something to get riled up about.

I didn't intend any offense, buddy, don't be so quick to take any. :)

Here we go.

Based on the list of preregistered people, plus Adam and Mischke, who are the only two I have absolute confirmation are coming besides the preregistred list. I have no idea who a bunch of the locals are, so I just spitballed. Sorry to anyone I offend with a low score--use that to your advantage by picking yourself and doing really well!

Rules:
1) Pick a team of at least three players. you have up to 100 points to spend. you take the best (highest finish) three placings on your team and add them up and that is your score. players who do not compete will be assigned a place of 1+n where n = number of attendants. lowest score wins.
2) post your team in thread. no editing. first team you post is the one you get. first one to post a team is the only one who gets that team
3) Anyone not listed: 60 points each.

winner gets a pc foil

35 points:
Brian Fred
Tom Haid

30 points:
Bryan Mischke
Steve Cellucci

25 points:
Chris Gogolen
Scott Lingrell
Mike Kessling

20 points:
Jonathan Murray
Keith Brown
Matt Scott

15 points:
Grady Hutchins
Jeremy DiPaolo
Adam Shelberg

10 points:
Pete Srodoski

5 points:
Brian Speight
Joel Pittman
Bill Pittman
Francisco Lam
Jan Beruda
Vince Hutchins

Not listed = 60 points, and then you leave Reid Smith off the list...
