As always, if it's cheaper for people to fly into DC, BWI, or Philly let me know. Should be able to accommodate a day or two before/after as well (as long as you're not allergic to cats).

Do we know yet if Worlds is in August or October this year? Might come into play if I have to pick one or the other.

It certainly fits much better in the calendar in Oct, but people seem to be against it then because of issues getting time off work

We should take a poll and then do the opposite of the majority vote

:P

We definitely tried to go with the majority opinion, but the hotel couldn't accommodate us. We've heard the opinion and already have a request in to the hotel to let us know when the January dates open up for 2021 so we can jump on them.

I just want my custom foil beer wars card. I don’t care which hotel I have to stay at to get it.
The acora in bochum (or another hotel within a few miles) is the one you have to stay at to get it :-D
Lol.

At least we are ahead, so if you wake up a couple of hours before starting, you might be able to fly in from Acora to Hyatt and be there on time :)

I have a price alert for jfk and phl but might add dc and bwi to see where will be the best.

Isn't Newark closest?

I should look up flights but now you have me confused, JJ, with Newark not in your top 4.

That was his first post, it was apparently very expensive from Orlando so he was looking for alternatives

Don't forget LGA (and if you're looking as far south as DCA, might as well look at BOS and PVD too.

Looks like there are airfare deals pretty much all the time between NYC and Orlando, EXCEPT in mid-April, which sucks

There is also small, lower hassle Treton (TTN) airport as well, which Frontier flies out of. Has some direct flights in big hubs in the midwest and southeast.

Mid April is when a lot of schools have spring break, so that may be part of the reason for the higher costs, especially into and out of Orlando.

No one should fly into Trenton. But if they do, there's a sweet breakfast place down the road that has my favorite pork roll sandwich.

can someone please update the main forums page with the dates of the event?

(and maybe retire the threads for the 2019 NAC and Worlds events that were several months ago)?

Are there any additional events on Sunday or is it just Day 2 for the main and consolation brackets? I'm expecting to be kaput after 4 games on Saturday so looking to see if it's worthwhile to plan on staying all weekend.

I'm still unsure over whether I'll be in attendance. One format question I wanted to bring up was the Saturday consolation - is it possible to run it similar to 2019? I thought that the Swiss format worked really well and ensured more games for everyone on day 1.

Based on memory - those who lost in R1 of the main event could enter a 6 game Swiss tournament. Those who lost in R2 of the main event had the option to enter Swiss with 4 VPs. The R2 losers were assumed to have won the first 2 games in the Swiss. Then there were four more Swiss games with the entire pool of losers from the main event, and the top 4 were bracketed up for Day 2.

There is another swiss event on Sunday for those players not in the Final 4 of either bracket.

It's possible, depending on attendance.
