ASM DDs

what an amazing deck carulli has made. or was it a piece of reid tech originally?

either way, the deck feels so amazingly fresh to play with. It can basically always win on beatdown from the first turns of the game on, but if LS manages to outmaneuver the beats with battle cancelers and houjixes the deck its routes to victory diminishes, imo. I end up paying 9 to drain for three and ping for one. the occasional forcepile ping on top. No options in space.

I ran it vs legend and lost by three as Legend managed to run the deck out of chars and setup space for free drains. Then I played it vs. joes diplo. it lost by 10ish. Again; running away, setting up space and celebration was a good answer to the deck.

I feel im playing the deck wrong somehow. any tips?

Not really, but it's probably more aimed at mains, trying to get a beatdown via Wounded Warrior and generally meant to prey at opponent's battleground sites to get better drains. Although certain tricks can help you, Diplo is generally a pretty bad matchup for DD's because you can't keep up in the long run.

Could just start Were Are Those Droid Deikas?! (V), run 16 destroyer droids and forget Dooku, Grievous and Maul. DDs shoot LS mains pretty well.

The deck works wonders against mains.
I played invasion DDs at worlds because I love the deck. Although TRM was the most popular deck I played against it only once (but won).
No Idea, Diplo or more generally decks that spread are an uphill battle that I can't seem to win.

Space decks are tough, even with S&D out

The real history of the deck on our team is that I wanted to build a dd asm that was built solely to kill mains, since mains decks in general will prevent "standard" (maul, grievous dooku) asm from flipping. I started first strike and ran 3 barriers to take advantage of that, had lots of other (bad) battling interrupts in. Reid does what he does with my better raw ideas (like he did for no idea with take the initiative originally) and took out the bad cards, put in cards that will make it more balanced vs other decks (in this case nutes, ychf, s&d among others) and made it a really good deck. I struggled at the team tournament at worlds with my map Vs trm and brought asm with me as a backup, and it was an easy call Friday night to just make the switch. Sure enough, I ran into 2 mains decks, no idea, and diplo (diplo was my only loss in the first 8 games with the deck, haid ran 2x its a trap that stopped me dead).

I don't always think of the deck as an overflow kind of deck, but more as a "win the war of attrition" deck. Most decks (mains in particular) will run out of characters first since you can often trade 2 droids for 4 characters in most matchup. A few games in testing got down to like 20 life force for me and 15 for them and they just scoop and say they're out of steam.

Same thing, barrier and dodge/its a trap! got me several times and cost me a few missed beatdowns. I run they're still getting through (or whatever its name) now, and wonder whether it would be even better to have blast door controls. LS avoiding battles is a killer.

Exactly that. DDs win not by draining/pinging, but by getting rid of opponents characters. Either shooting or drawing several BDs in a deck with rather high destinies (nute v + p60 + droideka = 4 BDs).
Even easier with Invasion thx to the racks, but there space can be a serious liability. I'd prefer ASM to Invasion if it weren't for own sites that are drain 2 for LS.
I removed Precision Targeting last minute because of its cost; had it deployed for free it would be an auto include.

I like the deck a lot. Haven't gotten a chance to play it, but I'm happy to see Destroyer Droids and ASM in the meta. Seeing them both in one deck is even better.

Is it worth playing 3x WMAOP+Bridge over the fourth Invisible Hand site?
Is this a matter of speed getting more activation early on?

It’s really neat when you get it early.

You could instead consider starting Silence Is Golden (V) and pulling the Incinerator. You give up an icon and lose an icon compared to the Bridge, but you gain reliable access and retrieval/recursion.
