I've created a step-by-step guide for updating SWIP both on a Mac and on Windows. Hopefully they are easy enough for anybody to use so we can keep this database updated!

Here you go:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fG9 ... sp=sharing

Please post back here if you have any problems getting this to work.

A while back, I started a project to basically update this project: switch the database to SQLite 3 and the GUI to Qt (cross-platform). I should pick it up and finish it up!

Thank you for doing that. I am able to edit the game text and everything now. I added a card to try and I am having an issue converting the new builder.txt file into a .sbd file. I will continue to add the new cards to the builder.txt file for now.

I believe that I have finished set 9. But I still can't figure out away to import it back into the database. Would someone else like to try?

I left some spaces between the new cards at the bottom; not sure if they would need to be deleted.

It is crazy how long it took to do this. I did not funny appreciate all the time it took to put the database together from scratch. Wow...

Where's the updated SW-IP database? When I download SWIP from the software downloads section, the database that comes with it is missing a bunch of cards that are in SLA?

EDIT: I'm maybe misunderstanding something. From reading this thread and others, I got the impression that SLA is based on the SWIP database? That's why I was expecting the SWIP database to be up to date with SLA. I guess that's not the case?

No, SLA was based on SW-IP and several other sources. We put everything we could think of in there (images to say the least), and it can be edited more reliable than SW-IP. It is NOT based on SW-IP, though. So, they don't upload the new SW-IP data to SLA or something.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I was wondering exactly if any changes made to the SWIP database would more or less automatically be added to SLA. Guess not.

Anyway, I fixed the builder.txt file provided by ks0385 and have uploaded the updated database with Set 9 here:
[link removed - check later posts for most recent version of the database]

EDIT: Note that I didn't spellcheck or otherwise check the card info added by ks0385, I just made sure that it's imported properly and that the cards actually show up in SWIP.

I've updated the database with all the errata I could find that was missing.

Nice work! Once the LS set 10 stuff comes in, I’ll import it into SLA for everyone else to enjoy too!

I probably won't have LS Set 10 finished until late next week.

Might have it finished sooner. Already got 10 cards done.

I've added all LS Set 10 cards to the database and have updated the cards that recently had name changes.

Fixed some missing characteristics for set 9 cards as well as removing some references to legacy cards.

Does SLA return cached search results? Because searching for characteristics of Set 9 characters doesn't return those cards. 'Female' didn't return Rey With Lightsaber; 'leader' didn't return Saw; 'trooper' didn't return Taidu. I only checked those three, but I guess no Set 9 cards have (searchable) characteristics on SLA?
