V-Kit: Customize a PDF to print only the card slips you want

Post by chriskelly »

V-Kit is a program that allows you to create your very own custom PDFs where you get to pick which cards (and in which quantities) you want. It also allows you to create white bordered virtual slips!

The system is updated regularly with the latest releases and errata so that you no longer need to print out pages and pages full of cards you may not want and can cut to the chase by printing a page full of those First Order Stormtroopers!

Support and more information (including an off-line version) can be found here: /viewt ... 71&t=49881

A community-wide thank you to hyvee_doughboy for his work in putting this all together!

For some reason I can't find Close Call v text to add it to a PDF. Happened to me twice now, one today, and one about a month ago.

Should be fixed now. Try it again and let me know.

Works for me, but the PC's server does some very weird caching things...

In vkit offline, What Chance Do We Have is called "What Chance To We Have" (probably mostly insignificant, if manually searching, since you'll only type the first few words, but that might make it miss the card from an imported list or holodeck file?)

Can the v-kit be expanded to include the Decipher errata? The errata document is 31 pages. Also lets say I wanted to make a probe droid deck and put 5 copies of the card in there (not that I do but this is hypothetical). I now have to print out 5 copies of page 4 of the document whereas if it was structured like the v-kit, this is a breeze. Yes I could take use a snipping tool or something but now it is very difficult for those who aren't technical whizzes to get them to print to the right size without making a bunch of mistakes and now I might as well have just saved my time and printed those 5 copies of page 4.

I do see that there is a 5 page thread on Decipher errata (under high-quality custom v-slips forum) stretching back years to when it was only in .xls format and appreciate all the labor in just error checking, creating, and updating that pdf, but now there is the new hotness of the v-kit and custom pdfs. Also the decipher errata is only in BB and the white bordered capabilities of the v-kit would be an awesome feature with errata too.

To bump TechTerror's question, is there a plan to eventually include the Decipher errata? Right now it's a bit of pain in the backside to have to either manually cut and paste parts of the pdf or print out multiple pages for just one card.
