Back during the reset...

Post by Throdo »

Back during the reset, people talked about how a reset didn't mean that the cards were gone for good but instead D&D could bring them back in later sets. In general, we haven't seen that very often.

What if there were a set that had only pre-reset (or pre-revolution, etc) cards? I think it would be pretty awesome actually, even if the set were small. There are plenty of players now who didn't play back in the day, so they would get to use old school cards for the first time. Then, for us players who have been around for a while, we could see how the old school cards do in the new meta.

There are so many old school cards that could be relevant in today's game or would just be cool to see again.

Those were also cool, a chance to re-do built a vader would be great.

Yeah there are so many options to choose from I think the hard thing would just be narrowing it down.

It's met my expectations, which were that Design mostly creates new stuff. But if they find that they do want to bring something back (A Stunning Move) then they just go ahead and do it. The old stuff is available if Design wants it.

I'm not objecting to bringing back old stuff, but I'm also not surprised that most of it is still locked away in the vault.

Hidden Base v opened up many great possibilities. It needed some extra cards to go with it but you could make alien-based, rebel-based or republic-based decks on pretty much any planet!

I was happy to see that they brought back ASM, but I would like to see more "legends" stuff. There are so many themed decks like Walkers, Assassins. I liked that a lot.

I always wondered why hundreds of hot girls would line up just to watch some geeky card game tournament, giving us that rockstar treatment.

These cards might need testing and balancing, but I’d love to see them come back.

Before the reset there wasn't any "new" star wars content. It made sense to revamp old objectives with helpers etc.

Now, with Ep7, Ep8, Rogue One, and Solo it is obvious D&D wants to ride that wave. They also want the strategies to be playable and that means designing up the power creep curve a bit (sometimes too much).

The idea would be that getting some of these cards back would be in addition to regular sets, because design wouldn't have to actually design the cards. Of course, there would still be playtesting, proofing, GEMP programming, and probably like 7 other steps that I don't know anything about because Chris Kelly is actually just an extension of Chris Gogolen's personality or something?

Yeah I would love to see some legacy 2.0 cards and themes come back out. Lots of good ideas and content to create off of.
