Re: Player of the Year 2020
If there were an Outrider Cup held this year, these would be the teams:
USA
Joe Olson, Captain
Paul Myers
Justin Desai
Hayes Hunter
Greg Shaw
+Captain's Pick
Europe
Bastian Winkelhaus, Captain
Justin Branch
Quirin Furgut
Fernando Castanon
Cedric Vanderhaegen
+Captain's Pick
Europe didn't have their normal gamut of events due to COVID, and their Euros online was a team event, thus the exclusion of people like Angelo and Emil that you would see in a typical year. Either could be a captain's pick, of course.
Just had the wondering of what the teams would look like cross my mind, so decided to take a quick look. Thinking about some of the potential matchups is fun, it's great seeing top players face off. A Paul v Quirin rematch would be fun, but I don't know that that would be a fair thing to do to Quirin.
And would be curious to see decks when you can only one-of, not have multiple HITCO, HD v, etc.

I wouldn't mind playing Paul again. I would just need a longer break in between the two matches, like a week or so

Re: Player of the Year 2020
So if we just do top 8 for PotY points, and assuming TMW counts as a major, then the following needs to be added:
Matt Lutz +4
Bill Kafer +4
Justin Desai +4
Brad Kippel +4
Mike Kessling +8
Joe Olson +8
Greg Shaw +12
MHT +16
Which updates leader board to:
Joe Olson 41
Greg Shaw 38
Justin Desai 35
MHT 16
Mike Kessling 16
Brad Kippel 15
Bill Kafer 12
Matt Lutz 9
So Joe would still win, Shaw would jump to #2. Desai would be 3rd. MHT would be 7th with Conor and Mike. Kippel would be 10th with Justin/Quirin. Kafer would be 14th with Jarad. Matt would be 18th with Wirfs, and BFred.

Re: Player of the Year 2020
That 8 points includes my TMW top-8. I got 4 from that, and 4 from Seattle top-8. I didn't play/place in any of the other events.
