Operatives?
Re: Operatives?
I agree with the remove errata and see how it goes option. Always the option to bring back the errata if needed.

I also like removing the off-card rules, independent of any other decision. They’re a trap for players who don’t know about them, and thus can’t factor them into their decisions—as the Operatives player or the opponent.
If removing the rules makes Operatives too good, I’d prefer strengthening the shields.

Re: Operatives?
I'm having some 2nd thoughts about undoing the rules when I consider my friends playing Prem-DS2 and Prem-Ref2 on GEMP. They can't just pull out a No Escape shield and Leave Them To Me shield when they see Operatives.
Although they probably do have No Escape effect in their decklist, and can flex start it, and the effect is much more powerful than the shield. But I don't know if it's enough.

Re: Operatives?
You could also just ban them in those formats. Does anyone play Operatives in Prem-DS2? Would it be too complicated to program 2 versions of the cards, one for Deciper era formats and one for PC era ones?Gergall wrote: ↑March 13th, 2020, 4:44 pmI'm having some 2nd thoughts about undoing the rules when I consider my friends playing Prem-DS2 and Prem-Ref2 on GEMP. Re: Operatives?
Perhaps if the ‘Operative’ rules were actually ‘subjugated’/‘renegade’ planet rules instead. Then there’s options to do other design directions with Operatives and less to remember by isolating the complexity to just those two SE objectives.Gergall wrote: ↑March 13th, 2020, 4:44 pmI'm having some 2nd thoughts about undoing the rules when I consider my friends playing Prem-DS2 and Prem-Ref2 on GEMP. This is what Tbiesty's card did.OrehRuoy wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 1:55 pmMaybe Ability = 1/2. They can't be dumber than creature vehicles.Corran wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 10:20 amOperative rules basically just say:
1. Operatives cannot control a site or initiate battle alone
2. You can only have one operative at a site
3. If you have 2 operatives at a site, one is lost
right?
Maybe, if somebody wanted to do virtual operatives, we could just make them ability = 0.
There were a few operative decks post errata using speeders, but those are nerfed hard by the effect/shield.
Re: Operatives?
I'd just like to be able to play the objectives again as platforms.

They are fun as a platform.
