Best ways for DS to deal with undercover spies?
Best ways for DS to deal with undercover spies?
I’m thinking Sniper/Dark Strike and Krennic. Is there anything better? Anything pullable or useful for other things? (Going in a mains TDIGWATT deck if it matters.)

It really depends on the other needs of your deck. Isard/Probot is fairly common, Isard in ISB or decks that care about Imperials, Probot in other decks, particularly ones running Dr. Aphra. Oota V is frequently played in scum decks that already want Greedo. Krennic is solid if you care about Imperials, ability 3 Imperials in particular, or have We're In Attack Position Now or want a tech card against OA or other decks that mess with your destinies. Sniper/Dark Strike is good in DS Mains that already run weapons, and Nevar Yarnal is good if you're already running ISB or another spy-heavy deck. Trample is good in Walker heavy decks, and Force Lightning is solid in a deck with both Emperor and Dooku.
There's probably a few others besides, but those are the common ones that immediately jump to mind.

Question: Why Probot over Isard? They both seem well balanced with each other.

It just depends on the deck. In IE, you can play Isard but not Probot. In Scum, you want Probot, not Isard. In BHBM, Isard can draw 2 on her own. Etc, etc.Madmanwithabox wrote: ↑April 23rd, 2020, 11:56 amQuestion: Why Probot over Isard? They both seem well balanced with each other.

Isard is also an Imperial leader for Stormtrooper Garrison. Just wish she was a pilot too.

I'm leaning towards Krennic because Piett can pull him (unless I'm mistaken and "Commander" has to be in the card title).

Defensive Fire and Hutt Smooch: I want it to work, I have even run it x2 before but have never had it in hand when an UC spy dropped. So this is more of a "not the best" solution. It would be cool if Jabba could pull it or it had a way to be used other than a destiny 2 float. Might as well use Oo-ta v as a destiny 5 float.

Yes. It was in Lenny's EPG 2018 Map deck and I have played it, too. Nice when paired with Limited Resources to cut their hand-size down. Do it more than about once (or if LS sees it in a verify) and they end up pulling the Senate shield.TechTerror wrote: ↑April 23rd, 2020, 2:56 pmDefensive Fire and Hutt Smooch: I want it to work, I have even run it x2 before but have never had it in hand when an UC spy dropped. The short answer to this question is that every deck for each side needs to have some sort of solution for UC spies. U-3PO shows up in a lot of decks, as does Jyn for LS. I generally recommend two to three ways, one of which should be a character. For example, in HD I will run Krennic, Force Lightning, Ysanne Isard, and/or Sniper combo. LS has QAM(V), SATM combo, Jar Jar + Wesa, Corran. Etc. Each has their uses in other ways and synergizes with something else. But nothing worse than a UC spy you can't clear ruining your day.

I used to play Boss Nass in TRM, because the BNC can upload him and then he spy-busts with Wesa.CRG wrote: ↑April 23rd, 2020, 3:00 pmYes.
