Who is the best player to never make Day 2/3 of Worlds?
That's it. Who do you think is the best SWCCG player to never make Day 2 or 3 of Worlds? Why? Why haven't they made Day 2 or 3? Have they simply not played in a lot of Worlds or just had bad luck in that particular event? For reference here is a link of most of the people that have made a Day 2 or 3 of Worlds:

Mike Richards got a lot of bubble finishes and played in a few win-ins the last round of worlds. I believe he has missed the cut twice when we had more than the usual x-2 finishers and he was always bubbled.

Re: Who is the best player to never make Day 2/3 of Worlds?
Mike Richards is a good call, I know he's been in the running going into the last game a couple of times. We had Paul Todd Feldman who made day 2 every year, but one of the other guys in our crew spend the better part of a year in and out of the #1 spot in the world....Jeff Fields. (before Brian Hunter began to monopolized that spot)
A lot of old school players, who have long since retired from this game, come to mind. TJ Holeman, Hak Soo Kim, Michael Turner, Ray Bordier, Nick Burke. A lot of majors won between those gentlemen, but not a single top 12 at worlds. (that I know of.....)

Man I totally forgot the name Hak Soo Kim.
Nick Burke is a great call!
I'd also submit Alex Tennent as a consideration.
Alan Sagan was a great player too, and in the conversation, but wouldn't win.

I can't explain how I forgot Alan, because he and Nick would always travel together. I roomed with them a few times in the early years. Alex is a GREAT call. (Tennent's Agents anyone?) In the early 00's, he was taking classes at Berkeley, and got the chance to meet him. (never played him though). Pretty sure you were at one of those tournaments Joe. (I think it was the Cali local where you borrowed all those Advanced Preparations from everyone.)
.....and a current name from your neck of the woods Joe. It really surprised me that I didn't see his name on any of the charts because any major I happen to go to, he seems to be at the top tables. Steve Harpster.

My bad, his name was Steven Turner. I believe he lived in Georgia. He ran with Steven Lewis and Clint Hayes up to the early 2000's. There is a famous Michael Turner though. He was a fantastic comic book artist, and the creator of Fathom.

Saw my name so I propose to clarify my situation.
I make worlds twice: In 2000 & 2002.
In 2002, it was not planned and I didn’t touch any cards for 1 year. I was in US seeing friends and take a car from NY to come. I played, enjoyed but was not expecting anything else to see all friends (SWCCG has always be my best excuse to see friends

In 2000, I tried to do my best, but as will say my German friend, Bastian, I wasn’t good enough.

On day 2, I was 5-2 and have to play my last game vs. Matt Sokol. His dark side deck was brillant using responsability of command & much anger in him to make direct damage. He win the SAC battle and also the game.
I was happy he win the day after. Even if it gave me more frustration, it also encourage me to do world again (terrorism attack change the life and my plan also)
But the post is a bit unclear. Are we talking about players who made worlds or not?
My SWCCG partner in 2000 & 2001 never have a chance to make it. He was 16 years old in 2000 and get no cash to travel to US. His name is Julien Rivière known as Dark Padawan on Decktech.
He started CCG end of 1999 and get no time to show his skill in a world. Bastian could confirm that his guy should be in this list.
I guess more players could be in. But whatever you do in any SWCCG tournament, the most important is have fun and seeing friends

Like if you had beat sokol that last game, you'd have been in the top 12 and not eligible for this list.
