Please Help! 25th Anniversary Marketing Visual
Hi everyone,
This idea is still in half-baked status, but I often think about how neat and interesting it is how players come and go into and out of and back into (hopefully) SWCCG.
I made the below graphic and would like to use it as a marketing tool in 2021, but what would really make it more credible is YOUR FEEDBACK:
[EDIT: strikethroughs for feedback below]
What years, out of the past 25, would you consider yourself to be actively playing competitive SWCCG? I'll let you 1) define competitive for yourself and 2) let me know how you want your name to appear in the first column - full real first/last, initials, forum handle, other nickname, etc.
You can respond below or PM me.
The more people who chime in, the more eye-popping this visual will look, and perhaps more importantly, the more authentic we'll know it to be.
EDIT: Clarity - I do want to emphasize concisely and eloquently that people going in and out of the game is more so b/c "Life happens" rather than "I didn't like the game at the time". Will stew on this.
Thanks in advance.

James Martin - Solidsnck - July 1996 - August 2003. Came back November 2019.
I played in one local tournament in like 2009 or something, but I'll leave those years in between blank.
Cool stuff here!

But, I think asking when people played "competitively" cuts out the very large group of kitchen table players who never played in tournaments on otherwise didn't consider themselves competitive (a lot of the lurkers and Facebook group NARPS fall into that category). I propose that we replace the word "competitively" with "actively" or something along those lines (and if we do that, I can claim 1995-present).

Re: Please Help! 25th Anniversary Marketing Visual
Actively is a good descriptive word Casey. Even with the "decide what competitively means for yourself" they might decide they never played competitively, but just for fun.
I second the suggestion, and vote to edit OP (unless for a particular reason you're looking for "competitive" rather than "active," but it doesn't sound like that).

Rob Hendon
95-98 - If game debut in Dec '95, then I played in a sealed event in March of '96. If it came out before March of '95, then I played then. Played in at least 1 event in those years at the local store.
02-05 - 02 is when I came back and played at DPC Houston. Played at almost every local event for next 3 years. Went to worlds in 03 but finished 6th on day 1 back when you had to qualify. Top 5 were Andy McClure, Matt Lush, Mike Gemme, Graham Neal and Chris Gogolen. Played in at least states in '04. Was on playtesting in '05. Quit shortly after WYSv, CRv decks were released after playtesting feedback was ignored.
10-17 - Came back in 2010 but played first event in 2011. Went to Worlds in DC. Played in TMW in 2011, 2012, 2013, not 2014 (to Cam's dismay), 2015, 2016, 2017. Played in regionals/states in the years that Texas had them. Ran Endor in 2016, Worlds in 2016, Nats 2017. Signed up for first OCS but only played like 1 month.
18 - Didn't play. Rarely checked boards or anything.
19-20 - Did OCS, MPC in '20. Ran TMW and played in Worlds.

Yeah I hear both of you. My intent was definitely to highlight "active" way more than "competitive". Updating OP and visual now. Thanks for feedback (and of course welcome additional from anybody else). This is where the "half-baked" stage plays in
