Team Tournament

Post by mc9457 »

The team tournament started at 6 pm after waiting for the rest of Team OhPa to show up. The team tournament turned more into a grudge match as Team IT went head to head against Team OhPa for the chance at uncut sheets, product, tournament foils and a team created virtual card.

Team OhPa dropped after game 3 as Day 1 had ended and everyone was hungry. Results were:

Team IT:

Brian Rippetoe - 6 (68 )
David Destefanis - 4 (17)
Brandon Ruck - 4 (8 )
Nick Reisch - 4 (-7)
Steven Lewis - 2 (-5)

Team OhPa:

Reid Smith - 4 (30)
Nate Meeker - 4 (10)
Justin Stratten - 2 (-13)
Pat Johnson - 0 (-52)
Dan Tartaglione - 0 (-56)

Final Results:

Team IT - 18 (86)
Team OhPa - 10 (-25)

Team IT will get the team virtual card design.

EVERY sport needs a "TO" that is overrated, arrogant, causes lots of drama, but at the end of the day doesn't finish at the top!

atleast parcells doesn't have a 8 year old designing his offensive plays

congrats to it team. but to say they beat Team Ohio when only 2 of 5 were there is a little out of line, imho.

anyway that said, team events and grudge matches are a cool idea, it's something i would like to play in next year

Team IT wasn't complete either. Half of the team was there, which is, only the persons that wanted/were able to play.

People from TO who weren't there should be good sports and congratulate our win (like we did for Meeker's) instead of trying to lower our victory. Especially considering what those same guys would have said if we had lost the Team tournament. :)

A note on my games:
I played Nitsuj twice.
He auto-killed himself game 1 (i was playing MBO, he was playing Watto, which should be as near as an autowin for him, but he lost), and lost honestly game 2.
The game I won with MBO with him was avenged by Meeker who won with his DS Senate a game he should have had no chance to win. While i didn't autokill myself like Nitsuj did, he Yeb Yeb the Death Star turn 1, I didn't manage to draw one of my 5 C&TV until END game to cancel his drain 4, etc etc.
All in all, so, the 2-1 result I had was deserved: I should have lost game 1 and won game 3. ;)

Game 2 vs Nitsuj was Bespin CR (me) vs LU/L(V).

bad decks.

a) Quoting Nitsuj: i shouldn't have played those bad decks Brad gave to me.

b) Bad decks from Meeker ?
Righhhttt... He played the same DS senate day 2.

The thing is: no one of Team IT played the same decks on Day 2. Some of you did. And we still won. :-p

Yeah, brad that speeders sucks. what is the game plan against Bespin CR Mains? LTG?

Meeker played Senate as a goof, then drew battle destiny = 20 and got a boner and decided to play it day 2.

oh... and team IT was pretty awesome... how do I apply to be a member of that team? I am part of the international community...

actually scum was going to be my day two deck, but when it looked like WYS was going to be hugely popular for some unknown reason i figured i would play the autowin against it, Senate.

Not to mention sinking the entire Rebel Fleet against DDM w/ 2 Destines was also kind cool

Not quite actually the whole fleet. (in the end yes, however :D)
And not 2 destinies. It was 3.
I moved half of it and got destroyed by the 5+7(+3)+4 (crossfire(V)) of Meeker. I wisely however moved aboard Rieekan + Tigran aboard, so i just lost them both + Home One.
That was however bad. :D
Next time i'll move everything. :P

how does crv mains win that matchup? occupation does nothing. you can't fight at 4th marker cause of the ao and threat of sandwhirl/v heroic sacrifice. in space maybe you can challenge if alternatives to fighting can't be looped with frostbite, i guess. still though crv bespin is a winnable game i would think

senate is sweet, i used it at ohio and indy states and wrecked stuff, like blowing up jlocks home1

i'll admit though... ddm i'm dissapointed you didnt have a broken deck... i mean, rops is solid, but, standard

His dark was pretty techy too. Though nothing broken, like Space Slug.

I wasn't playing Occupation.
Just super exe with DSG(V), Chiraneau, Tractor beam etc...
On ground I came with B2(V)+G.Veers(V) + EPP Vader.
I moved to flip him back.
Then I killed Cmd Luke (V) AND Rogue 1 (V) without battling with Walker Barrage (luke=dead) followed by Trample (rogue 1=dead).
Since my CR starts ID(V), there was not much he could do but lose.
Indeed his space fleet was killed a turn after showing up for like 30 overflow.

It was however quite different than the usual version. But yes, nothing really broken about it. :D
