What did you play?

Post by Psychobabble »

Just interested in what everyone who was at worlds played. If you could answer like:

Day 1
Light -
Dark -

Consolation tourney
Light -
Dark -

Etc. that'd be great. Not necessarily looking for detailed discussion of your deck, I'd just like a sample of what got played.

Thanks!

Consolation:
Dark: Black Sun Scum
Light: WYS/Nightfall

Had I been able to play Day 1, would have been the same.

Chris Shaner (third place overall) - I'll post his because he's not on the forums

LS - Better Than Oakland (Go Raiders!) WYS
DS - Endor Ops Mains, indifferent to whether it flips or not

Me:

Day 1 (blanked)

LS - The Zoo (credits w/ Conflict, speak and space, no harvesting)
DS - Endor Ops Mains, with flip, which was a mistake

Day 2 consolation (4th, and my own mistakes prevented better)

LS - Tatooine Stax (credits standard style w/harvesting)
DS - Hunt Down non-dueling

Day 3 consolation (better deck performance than my 2 points suggest)

LS - The Zoo
DS - Bring Him Before Me (should have played this day 1)

The crowd of you who saw The Zoo dealing about a hundred damage and choking off 15 cards against Rogue4's CCT Broken Bounties and still losing 6-3 at the timeout got a good look at how my day 3 went wrong... so many matches I could have won and did not... having BHBM come down against WHAP and your destiny is suspended... argh... that's kind of how it went. Oh well, I have mistakes to blame just as much as matchups, and in the long run, the musician matters more than the piano.

Title for Schele's deck:
"Any Retrieval Necessary"

Day 2 decks:
LS - WYS Panic (great deck)
DS - ROPs Domination scrubs

Day 3 consolation decks:
LS - Senate Slug (broken tech)
DS - The Katana Fleet (EOPs with Dreadnaught trick)

The Slug trick was used to full efficiency only in the first game (causing Greg to come and explain for 10 full minutes to my opponent how I was -alas for him- right).
Game 2 was vs Reid and CCT (only autoloss for the trick, so i didn't play it)
Game 3 was vs CubsFan's Walkers, where I used half of the trick, since he didn't bother really interacting with it.

Only loss with the EOPs deck was vs Profit where I got greedy and kept Blizzard 4 alive for 5 turns at the DB (ended up beaten there with Jedi Presence) while I was draining for 8 per turn. oh well... :D

Or better yet, just ban DDM from playing creatures.

I like your EOPs deck. Its the only EOP deck I can say that about. Persona replace Rebel Princess w/ Leia (v) FTW. I set you a PM.

For both days:

LS - WHAP (4-2 lost twice, once to Hunter and once to deadbody...I wasn't prepared AT ALL for Watto and have never played against Watto in playtesting...plus Hunter and deadbody are extremely good players)

DS - Court Mains (I didn't realize how much WYS would be at Worlds, plus I lost to some really, REALLY creative LS decks, so I don't feel bad - DDM's Panic WYS, Kafer's LS 2-Player Luke, Brant's 148 overflow or so, thehooky's weird Profit deck with randomness)

I only changed 1 card out of both decks and that was adding Frozen Dinner (v) in my shields and TAKING OUT the Beggar canceller...oh, the irony! Thanks Brant! :)

If I could have done it over, I wouldn't have ditched my Endor Ops flip deck that I've been playing for the past month or so...it was a solid deck but I decided to go with Black Sun Fleet/Court Mains because I thought it was 'cool'. I won't make that mistake next year...
