Great final. Is anyone filming it?

I see not reason to not post this now:

Brian Hunter: EBO and ROps
Angelo Consoli: QMC and ROps
Mike Gemme: Combat (LS) and Senate
Brad Eier: Profit and Hunt Down

Justin Desai: Senate and Hunt Down
Jonny Chu: Senate and AOBS
Brian Fred: WYS and Hunt Down
Tom Hollingworth: Combat (LS) and Hunt Down
So where is the SYC/Fear at? Even Hunter didn't play it?

It appears there's some decent variety of decks so far, too. Any decks proving to be way over the top out there so far?

It sure appears that the best players made it to the top 8 (i.e., no Colorado Rockies that more or less came out of nowhere to surprise everyone).
Generally Doug, you play your best decks Day 2, not Day 3. I know I always did. Day 3 is "player meta", Day 2 is "broken" decks/"world" meta.

Yeah, what Schele said. Also, decks that are popular on Day 2 are generally dropped on Day 3; at least 4 players played Dark Combat Day 2, and nobody played it today. Though of all decks, I was kinda surprised Hunter brought Rops (though I was sure he'd drop Fear, because folks would expect him to play it).

ETA: Chu has an advantage in this final, no? With the AoBS > HDADTJ vs LS Senate, no? Especially if Desai's playing KToD Back Door HD.

Schele wrote:Fear was played on Day 2, and did quite well. It is a better Swiss format deck than a Match play deck, which is why it was not played on Day 3.
and am I right in saying HD is good in match play b/c it whittles down diff, which is why it was so popular.

Oh, and aobs is def > HD vs senate, unless HD is teched with multiple bane malar, gemmemperor/sfs or something. aobs can do very well vs senate, so chu is in a good spot.

PS. kill LS senate. I think i'm going to make that my sig.

ls senate and fear seem to be the only over the top decks.

4 people played fear day 2 and only one of them finished 2-2, the others were all 3-1.

ryan is 3-1 +69 in the consolation tourney. reid is undefeated, he's the best scrub there is.

chu wins the first game by 16. desai is playing hd right now vs chu's light senate, early on in the game, looks pretty even. if anyone knows how to beat light senate with hd, it'd be desai. just a matter of differential i think, can he win by 17? dunno.

Congrats Mr. CHU!!!!!!!
Clearly on Hunter's top 20 list of all time, he will now move up to number 2, trailling only THE BRIAN HUNTER.

why in the world would chu not be #1? seriously. there is absolutely no reasonable person who could say the chu is not the best swccg player ever right now. the only thing hunter is #1 at is lying to the pc/players about the power level of fear v and cheating steven lewis.

PS My comment that he was still behind Hunter was an attempt at sarcasm.

gotcha. hmmm, how did he get 12. hb matching im' guessing, so luke (2), leia (2), padme (2), boshek (2), han (1), wedge (1)... i'm struggling to get over 10 here :). I can see how it'd work ok in the deck though.

it would've been 13 but i only had 12 in the lost pile. i would say the consolation tournament was a success at consoling me for missing out on day 3 for the second year in a row. and if chu is the best player ever i feel pretty good as well cuz he and i always have CLOSE games.
