[EUROPE]: Champions' MPC on 17th and 18th November

Post by Tusken84 »

CHECK OUT PAGE 3 for the latest and summarized informations

I don’t know what happened to my first post. I hope it got lost and wasn’t deleted from someone. However, again sorry fort he huge delay. I wasn’t able to be online for 9 weeks…

Chris Menzel had the idea and I talked to some Americans how an MPC work and realised that it is possible to do one…. So here are the informations you waited for:

When? :
Date: 17th November 2007
Time: TBA

Where? :
99% Nibelungenquelle, Bensheim (Germany).
This location is already known by the best european players…so I hope to see you all there:
Belgium people, Dutch people…Hungarians, Norway people, British! (I heared you started again to be active…), Italians, French, Polish? and of course a lot of Germans!

Do you have price support? :
yes

And what…? :
Good stuff! Chris Menzel bought a lot. Probably a V-Card.
This all is no guarantee, but it will look like that! All details will be posted after I talked to Chris. If there are a certain number of players I will throw in 2 URF (into the total price support) from Reflections II and I guarantee that those are Emperor Palpatines and/or Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knights. One will be get randomly out and if there are more then enough people, I will raise it to a total of 4 URF.

wow,…but you want 100€ as starting fee, correct?
Correct!... just kidding ;) I think between 7 € – 12 €.

Can you guarantee a minimum of games?
Yes! There will be at least 4-6 games for everyone. There will be a seperated side-tournament.

Who is already qualified?

Just a quote on that from Chris Menzel himself:
[quote] Year Ender MCP: Fight For Virtual Creation

At every Regional, the first 2 places will get a European “Byeâ€

The list will be online the next days. I'll post it asap.

Why does it seem to be the worst date in the world? oO it's end june / begin july. I thought this is early enough to get it announced :(

Year Ender

Post by Shadow 14 »

Hi guys,

Sorry if the date is not convenient for some, but we decided things early this year, and have to stick to it. There are so many things going on that I haven't even promoted the Europeans strongly this year (hope you will still all show up).

A lot of things were chaotic this year but we arranged everything with the PC, and next year will be much more clear and easy from the beginning.

On the other hand we have had one of the best SW years in Europe so far, and things should be even better next year.

More on the price support and other things later from Nico, but there will be HUGE prize support (glass trophy, polo shirts, T-shirts, boosters, and much much much more). Keep tuned.

The master himself came to boards! :) Yes, this year was amazing, and hope next year we can do it more organized! :) Anyway, I think this year had nothing to complain about organization. Everything went good so far.

I don't know yet if I can show up, but i'll try, since it's in Bensheim. I've already talked a lot about it with Nico.

PS: Can someone of the moderators make this as an "Announcement", please? Thanks!
Here is the list of those players who already have a bye for the final round:

Belgium (3rd March) : Nico Kreidl & Floris De Vries

Italy (2nd April) : Gabor Szegedi & Laszlo Pusztai

Netherlands (16th April) : Julian Fuss & Nico Kreidl => Julian Fuss & Kris Van Beurden

Norway (1st May) : Thomas Caspersen & Magnus Christiansen

Germany (3rd May) : Kris Van Beurden & Dirk Friedrichs => Dirk Friedrichs & Stefaan Lambrecht

Hungary (8th May) : Jeno Kovacs & Agoston Koszegi

United Kingdom: No event?

Total list:

1) Caspersen, Thomas
2) Christiansen, Magnus
3) De Vries, Floris
4) Friedrichs, Dirk
5) Fuss, Julian
6) Koszegi, Agoston
7) Kovacs, Jeno
8) Kreidl, Nico
9) Lambrecht, Stefaan
10) Pusztai, Laszlo
11) Szegedi, Gabor
12) Van Beurden, Kris

All on this list: Please preregister, if you are going to come on: Tusken84@aol.com and via PM.

I don’t know if the top 2 of EC get a bye to it. We’ll talk about that at the EC.
The details on price support will be finished on EC either.
Even the idea from Tamas will be discussed on EC:
Tamas made a suggestion, that the final 2 rounds (meaning semi-finals and game for place 3 & the final itself, so 4 games) should be made on the upcoming sunday. I don’t think that this will happen, because most of the players I know just don’t have the time, but if anyone thinks this idea is too good to make it not happen, drop me a line! I think to 99% the sleeping place is for free for those last fours.

Regards
Nico

I thought I asked this, but I guess I never hit the "submit" button. do you guys plan to use the BCS for ranking the players? I'm just curious, won't be offended if you say "No way, Jose".

Dude, if you win worlds this year and you want to come, I grant you a bye! :)

Btw, no, not only these players will play, but they have the opportunity to pre-register and join the top16, otherwise the players will have to qualify for this. I think the method of the qualification is still under consideration.

To your question: No, you don't dominate the scene. It is just pure luck and you forgot:

I'm gonna have to agree with Scott on this one... Don't bring real luggage.. and make sure you bring a small carry on in case your carry on that meets the airlines requirements actually fits on the plane.

As to coming to this, I'll look into it... Though it will obviously depend more on the qualifications that get listed on the 14th of July.

So we'll see what happens.
