2009 Fantasy Picks

Post by mr007agent »

Here it is.

The fantasy contest.
what is it? It is a chance for everyone on the forums to predict some worlds results!

How does it work?

You pick a "team" of any 3-5 players, totaling 100 points (players not listed are 5 points). You email or pm me the team.
Then sit back and see how your team does! The highest 3 placings overall from your team count as your "score". like golf, lowest score wins!

Ok, so lets say i have a team of jabba the hutt (40 points), bib fortuna (30 points), ephant mon (25), and salacious crumb (5).

Then for the worlds results, here are how they did:
bib: 3rd place
jabba: 8th place
ephant: 12th place
salacious crumb: 41st place

So we take the top 3 scores, bib (3), jabba (8), ephant (12), add them up for a total score of 23.

Here are the points for players. Players not listed are 5 points. These were determined by myself fairly arbitrarily so don't be angry about your points, its just for fun after all.

If you pick all of the Texans (4 will be there: James Barnes, Michael Richards, Chris Fanchi and Joseph Graham) and you are the winner I will personally donate $100.

I took most of these from Brad Eier from 2007 and modified for this year.

I personally think that Greg is a steal and I did the ratings, but he has disappointed me here of late.

Yea Chu at 40 seemed like a no brainer, especially when i could pick Chu, Bfred and McGee and still pick a darkhorse 10 pointer, like Dan Kim(assuming he's coming....)

You could, and just make all the returns people get you reduced by a % (ie if you pick 150 points of people, your total points will be reduced by 33%).

Baroni is by far the biggest steal. You can do Chu/Desai/Baroni/15 pointer.

Obviously Lee Edwards is the 15 pointer you put there for Boston-area solidarity.
Lee "Terron" Edwards - ... Who? Sorry, that name doesn't really ring a bell. Is he supposed to be somebody important?

It's nice to know I can basicly dominate all year, and still be worth less than 5 people. All of which I have a at least a 500 record against, if not a winning record in the past year. :)

I can't lie though. I am phoning this worlds in real bad though, but I doubt that that was taken into consideration when this was made.

Since this is all pointless anyways. I am picking the all Texas team, since there is actually money in it if you do, and I am gona give them all of my deck lists (which may or may not help them) :)

Does that mean you only get those 4? Or do you just have to have those 4 on your winning team. Since you can pick 3-5, Does that mean I can pick Chu or Reid also?

If so, that is a steal of a team!
