I like it. This way, the player with more force left gets an advantage.

So we want our timed rules to include "If Brian Hunter is involved in a timed game, he wins"? If that's what the players want, I guess...

Since I did not receive the survey, here are what my answers *would* have been:
QUESTION 1 Would you prefer that Worlds be held in the Summer or Fall?
Fall
QUESTION 2 If Worlds 2009 had been held in the summer, how likely would you have been to attend?
I likely would have attended but it would have been more difficult
QUESTION 3 Do you think the current role differential plays in the tournament structure is fine or should the PC seriously consider an alternative such as Strength of Schedule?
We should look at an alternative
QUESTION 4 What do you think about how timed games are currently handled in the tournament structure?
System needs some change
QUESTION 5 What are your thoughts on Goo Nee Tay?
It needs a counter
if a counter was given, would you support a shield?
Yes.

I think Location is a huge thing,

Chicago is THE place to have it, Minnapolis is asking too much for me but that would be even better.

I do, and the year before that it was in Chicago!

I never attended either (as I wasn't playing the game then) but my play group went!

My answers on the survey were submitted and they were the EXACT same responses as Brian Hunter just gave. Remember, there aren't any right or wrong answers you didn't have to copy my survey paper Hunter. But at least it goes to show that I know what I'm talking about. Oh, and if Brian Fred is reading this, no I didn't read this post before or after I wrote it.

Can't you just combine the GOO NEE TAY shield as part of the one that already cancels Frozen Assets and Beggar? Make it the Anti Force choke shield and limit Revolution and Obi's Appiration while you're at it.

If it's a close game sudden death sabacc is going to have to be the new rule. Otherwise settle it with podracing or an arm wrestling match.

How come I never get to arm wrestle skinny white guys for state championships?
Blake Huffman

You know what I'm talking about. This is just like that time Captain Picard wanted Luke to go with Treebeard but Luke was all "I don't know what you're talking about, do you mean this dragon I caught?" and Captain Picard was all NO RETARD, I mean go with that tree and Luke just kept talking to his friends Anakin and Jar-Jar and then he left Picard on Mordor and forgot about it completely. I love that episode.

TacoBill wrote:I personally was most intrigued by the timed games and SOS questions. How come no one is talking about this?

As far as timed games, I think its time we changed that. If time is called and you have 12 cards left and your opponent has 14 cards left, why should he win by 14? That should be a timed win with 2 differential.

To be honest though, I'm ready to move to SOS as a first tiebreaker. And I'm very interested to see Booker/Eier's results of this tournament season, and how SOS would have affected it.
I really hope you don't actually think that is what they were gathering info for. ;)

A TW of +30 when the different is 30 vs. 2 cards left shouldn't we worth the same as +30 for a game that's 30 vs. 28 cards left. It's not as accurate of a representation of the game results.
sigh

the incentive is supposed to be "finish the game and the end result for both players will be better." if i have 10 life force and my opponent has 14, i'd much rather play faster, end the game, and whittle him down to 6 cards than get a timed loss by 14. and for my opponent, he'd MUCH rather finish the game and get 2 VP +6 than his 1 VP +14.
But if there's 5 min to go, I've got 25 life force to Bob's 23 and it's not obvious I can win the game if we played it out, I'll sure as hell take it to time for a TW+25 when that's obviously unfair to the other player. In games where the diff is close, a TW with full life force added as "differential", that's a huge incentive for our current system. And it's dumb.
Yeah, and when you lose a game, and don't make finals because of your 1 vp, your dif doesn't exactly matter then.
