Name Proposals
I propose:
"Primer Decks"
OR,
"Major Tournament Decks".
That way, this forum can house both the primers and all the decklists from the major tournaments.

Brad's suggestion or something similar is what this forum should be. This should not be just a forum where every primer is placed, only the one's for decks that are actually competitive. So the 3/2 one could be moved here, while the WYS (v) one would stay in the regular decks section until it proves itself to be a deck that is at the top tier.
Does the deck section delete itself? Or would it be worth having a Primer Archive subfolder where non competitive primers can hide (and never be deleted) until they are competitive again?Kinslayer wrote:Brad's suggestion or something similar is what this forum should be. for magic, like idk how it started really on their forums. however, i know that now its like, there is a section with primers for "decks to beat"
new primers originate in a spearate discussion forum. then the mods, based on like results from events, development of the discussion, etc have discretion to move it to the "decks to beat" section (often done by players gently commenting in the thread that it shoudl be considered a DTB). also there are times where the meta shifts and a deck falls off so much that it is moved FROM the dtb section to a general discussion one
--
that said i think the sw primers are not 100% analogous to the magic ones. first, evaluating decks is harder, cause magic has a big event liek every 2 weeks, where we may have like 8 in a good year.
also, we want a decks to beat section, but we also want primers for stuff like the wys v to be around, as a jumping off point for people to experiment with the deck.
however, one of the biggest complaints i think about the forums is that we have SO MANY subforums
so some ideas would be:
just ONE subforum with ALL primers. when mods/whoever approves, we can sticky them and add DTB (deck to beat) to the title, to help differentiate.
this idea isnt one we would have to do; but i think it might be worth considering. cause on one hand we don't want to clutter the deck advice forum, but, on the other we dont wanna have 3 different deck forums maybe
so i envision like the primer subforum looking like :
top: stickys of DTB primers. then, primers of decks that are in development/not DTB's yet (maybe labeled as "development" till it becomes a stickied dtb)
so like you log in and see fro mtop to bottom the following threads:
(sticky) DTB: 3/2 deck
(sticky) DTB: Ralops
(sticky) DTB: Tigih
Development: Wys V
btw the main difference between the primers and just deck discussion is that the primer is sorta done after some at least preliminary testing is done. so like, wys v, while we are still discussing the deck, does belong in primers since there has been some testing and there is more than just a decklist and arguing about it.
whereas like, if i wanted to post "eiers homebrew ds senate" list and get some feedback on it, THAT type of thing is still good for the general discussion forum
but mods fee lfree to structure the forum any way, there are a lot of ways that can work well.
players just give some feedback on what is easiest to navigate and stuff
