Thumbs down on having a Cube event. Boo.

...Why? It's on Thursday, and it's just a day 2 qualifier. No different than the Cube mini-opens that several groups had throughout the year. Also BOTH sides are being drafted, so it is even more skill-based.

Mike doesn't like cubes because they are square, and he is old enough to have been called a square in school, so it brings back bad memories.

I think at his age he should be happy he has memories, but what do I know 8)

I guess it's a good thing that my cube isn't square, then.

Hope the prizes for the Cube Event are good. That's the highest entry fee I've ever seen for one.

how come day 1 starts so late? 4:30 for a 6 game tournament with day 2 at 10am the next day seems pretty harsh...but whatever. i'm not playing in it.

but it would be nice to have a cube qualifier earlier in the day, we didn't realize there would be a thursday afternoon event so our flight doesn't get in early enough to play in it. =(

I am guessing that the 4:30 start is to accommodate travelers... just my thinking...

At the risk of putting Eier back up on his soapbox...

I think the later start time is to accomodate the Rosemount students who will make up a large portion of the Day 1 players and would otherwise be unable to make Day 1 due to school.

there's only ONE event day 1? um, why? in the past there's been like 2-4 events to try to qualify on day 1. can we have a cube at least?

There is a good chance an event may be added in the early part of Friday (i.e. Noon range)

we are still in talks wit the TD's, but I didnt want to hold up the most important parts of the schedule.

I want people to know as far out as possible what the schedule shall be so they can make travel plans.

I asked this in the other thread, but didn't get a response, so I'll try here. The earliest I could get to TCC on Friday is 6pm. Is the team tourney actually gonna start at 5?

And I've got Wars and Austin Powers ready.

I think it comes down to who is the Jedi Knights Champ (I was the champ in 2006) and Young Jedi Champ.
