It's tough to decide here. The KTOD has put 7/7 people in day 3 of words at the last two worlds they attended (2003 [Desai, Chu, Hays, Gemme] & 2007 [Desai, Chu, Gemme]), but the odds are certainly stacked against us going 11/11. I'm gonna go out on a limb then and pick:

Desai (50)
Chu (45)
Baroni (35)
Gemme (35)

Mike "Deck" Gemme

still working on my picks. team ohio/reidtech has put someone in day 3 each of the last 4 years. i kinda dropped the ball last year though, as the previous 3 years we actually had someone in the finals each time

my team will probably be
to member
ktod member
undercosted strong player
10 point bargain pick

Even if he does teach math, that doesn't mean he teaches it to Gemme.

Ok.

BTW that sucks.
Yeah, it sucks, but real life needed me elsewhere and I really had to be there. I'm fully planning on being at the MPC though, so I hope you guys come out for that. Good luck Kevin!

He almost correctly explained fun as a function of the number of flags. That one almost stuck.

now that everybody's forgotten who they picked for their fantasy team, it's time to roll out the 2008 world's fantasy contest winners! but before we do that, here are the top 8 finishers and the number of picks they received:

kevin shannon: 4
kyle kreuger: 2
steve baroni: 4
mike raveling: 1
jon chu: 13
garrett larson: 1
tom frafjord: 2
brian hunter: 7

we had a 3-way tie for 1st place this time around. and the winners were:

garrett larson with his team of mike raveling (3), garrett larson (5), and tom frafjord (5) for a total score of 13

kyle kreuger with his team of kevin shannon (1), kyle kreuger (2), and greg shaw (10) for a total score of 13

phil aasen with his team of kevin shannon (1), kyle kreuger (2), and greg shaw (10) for a total score of 13

congratulations to our 2008 fantasy worlds winners!
