Online V-Card Intent to Play Tournament

Post by Farmer Bob »

Payment Guideline Update:
Due to PayPal costs and rates the pricing structure for the tournament is slightly different.
* The total charge will be figured out once complete registration is done.
* The breakdown for payment will be the mathematical formula as follows:
40 / #
# = Number of players in the tournament.
x * 1.029
x = Total of 40/#
.30 per player.
So the formula in longhand will look as such:
(40/#)*x)+.30
(The above example should make sense even if the mathematical rules aren't strictly followed. For a better clearer version see DarkBro's posts on Page 3.)
NOTE: All decimals will be rounded upwards (even if it comes out to be 2.201; it will still be rounded up to 2.21 rather than rounded down as per usual to be 2.20). The total payment will still be sent to the PC. No money will touch the tournament director's paypal account, bank account, pocket, wallet, or anything else.

If you are able to do group-payment, please inform me. That would greatly help in 1) dealing with PayPal/the tournament's costs/affairs; 2) lower costs.

If you pay in a group; you are still required to pay the (*1.029) but you won't be required to pay the .30 per player; that will be a total group payment of .30 rather than per player. Per player will still be (*1.029) though.

The basics of the rules for this tournament:
---------------------------------------------
Here's the basics for how it'll be run; take this with a grain of salt and all things can be changed/altered up until time of the tournament:

Tournament:
Online V-card Same Deck Tournament

Prize:

1 V-card Design

Decks:
Same decks every round (1 LS deck, 1 DS deck)

Tournament Director:
Myself (Rypcord/Farmer Bob)

Registration Period:
Begins whenever I get a chance to do the initial set-up for the tournament (still looking for an OK from a higher-up on the PayPal set-up with multiples instead of just 1)
Ends 1 week before tournament begins

Tournament Starts:
Shooting for the 3rd week of July. All week starts will be Sunday. ie. your first possible day to play against your opponent will be Sunday; and your last will be Saturday. All pairings will then be done Saturday and Sunday (at the latest Sunday - Noon); if you do not play your game by Saturday
at 5:00PM (EST); then you will have a forfeit.

Tournament Requirements:
1) 1 DS deck (with decklist sent to the TD)
2) 1 LS deck (with decklist sent to the TD)
3) Latest update of HoloTable/HoloDeck
4) If V18 is updated to HoloTable by the time of the tournament (meaning the Preview 6-cards; unless the set is released and tournament legal by the start-date); the cards will be legal. All cards (as long as updated to HT) will be legal for the tournament as of their tournament legal date.
5) The AR.
6) A PayPal account.
7) A HT account.
A PC forums account.
9) An e-mail address.
10) A home address.

Pairings:
First round will be completely random.
After that; it goes Best DS vs. Best LS and so-on. 2(+35) vs. 2(+37).
Hopefully a bye will be averted; as long as we have even numbers = no byes.
Dropping from the tournament is allowed/mandated if you do not play your game 2 rounds in a row.

After each game you are required to send to the TD the following:
1) Who won/lost and the differential. Also what basic deck-idea they were playing. (ie. HD[v], or WYS[v], or Farming)
2) Your game-log. *ALL* players will be required to save their games, and send them to the TD.

Rounds:
Each round = 1 week.
6 rounds.
1 Final Confrontation (2 games. 1 LS and 1 DS per player)
Total Time: 7 Weeks.

Same Deck:
Meaning you cannot change your deck from the decklist you sent the TD. Your LS deck Game 1 must be the same as it is Game 6.

The decks are basically built on the honor system; please do not abuse this. The above steps (game-log, sending in the basics of the deck, etc.) are taken as a precaution.

Paying:
After registration period is done; we will take the total cost of the V-card tournament package and divide it by all participants. That will be the cost per player to enter.

A player must have a PayPal account that links to their banking account for this to work.

This is a one-time fee at the end of the registration period and must be done in the timeframe of the 1 week before the tournament begins. Failure to pay the cost will mean you do not play in the tournament; and all other players costs will rise due to your dropping out. If you drop, are mandated to drop (due to failure to play) you do not get your money back.

There are no prizes other than the V-card design.

Any chance we could get this made a sticky?

It'd also be nice to have a place to upload all of the decks post-tournament.

I would love to participate in this event, sounds like a great time, but the first week, I am on the beach with the kids and won't be able to get a game in, so I will pass this time around.

Note: No PayPal account. Either Darren (most likely) or Mike (if the first option fails?) will be transfering money for me from their account.

Yea, because you had to come in and try and ruin what should be a good time by many?

...and because the PayPal money is being sent directly *TO* the PC and will never even touch [my apparently greedy] hands.
And because I've been known to grift people's home addresses, decklists, and money before?

Ok, gotcha. Done trying to ruin something I'm doing just out of your spiteful hatred of me? Ok. Good. Goodbye Reid.
