Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
Any interest? I could bring back the one day online HT format as well (maybe go to a one hour time limit now that the reset has sped up games?)
Thoughts? If I run it like last year, it would be $10 and would be a straight cash payout (unless winner/2nd place wants a bye to worlds, in which case then it is bye + straight cash).
Let me know.
Thanks!

I assumed that you would be in. Asking if Hayes wants to play online SWCCG is like asking me if I want bacon.Hayes wrote:Sure.

More details please.
When? Decklists required? Switch decks between games?
Cut and paste from an old thread to this one is fine.

Re: Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
Format Ideas:
1) Tried and True - 1 week per game SOS/Diff depending on attendance
2) One day HT - Block off a day, show up. Play SW cards online.
3) One Week MPC Style - Round 1 matches need to be done by midnight Friday, Round 2 Midnight Saturday, Sunday - If more are needed, then Friday, Sat, Sun of the following week.
4) One Week Swiss - Game 1 Friday Night, Game 2 Saturday, Game 3 Sunday, Game 4 Friday, (more games as necessary).
Just trying to think of ways to make it go faster than just 1 week at a time and make it a little different than OMTS.
Thanks!

One Day HT Tournament
/viewt ... 94&t=53414
All details to be worked out. Usually online tourneys don't do deck lists and you can change between rounds. For my real-time HT tournaments I required decklists and then I would observe the games. Also, all games are required to be saved so if there was an issue I could go into a saved game and have them show me their entire deck, not that it would be a problem.
Thanks!

I'd prefer the one day honorable tournament. You'd get less participants than a two weeks per match style tournament but it sounds like a lot of fun even if we could only get 10 or entrants. The fri/sat/sun weekend tournament would probably be the hardest one to make.

I hate excluding the euros. One day stuff is rough with the time zones.timeofyouppi wrote:I'd prefer the one day honorable tournament. Re: Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
Not that anyone should care too too much, but I wouldn't play in any type of online event unless it was of the 1-2 games per week variety. Just thought I'd put my vote here.

It's much more exciting to me when you get a group of people who are coming up to you.....really really excited about it. And then there are other people who walk out literally saying that was the worst movie I've ever seen. Having those two extremes to me is the mark of the type of movie that I want to make.

Re: Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
How about two competing brackets, one US vs. Euro. The brackets are separate so scheduling conflicts between the two shouldn't be bad, so we can schedule more than one game per week.
Then the winners compete for bragging rights for their continent (and cash...)?
Thanks!

Re: Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
It would be impossible for me to play in a one-day event, and even a weekend event would be pushing it. So my vote would be for the standard 1 week/round format.

One day event is out for me for sure.
I don't like splitting the brackets US vs. Euro. I play those guys enough.

Re: Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
Ok...consensus seems to be standard format, one week per match. So the other formats are out.
Do you like MPC style (we just did that in OMTS #5)? What if we did match play round-robin? This event is likely to have fewer people (about 8-10) so we break into two groups randomly. Play round robin, and the top two out of each group plays each other for the championship?
Also, since this is a straight cash event, would people feel comfortable going up to $15-20?
Just trying to make things interesting.
Thanks!

Definitely interested in the 1-2 games/week scenario. I really like match play, but round robin sounds cool too.
Re: Holotable Mini-Worlds 2015
I'd prefer Swiss over match play.

Either is fine. I fear if you set $15-$20 bar, not a lot of ppl will sign up.
