Bespin Super Weekend - July 16th and 17th*

Dang that was a fun tournament! Congrats Bryan on the win!

A few highlights (or low-lights depending on your point of view):

Lightside:
- At the start of every game, hearing some variant of: “Profit? Profit? Hmmm...ok”.
- Then hearing: Endor? Endor? YES!!
- Hearing: “Home One in Profit?” YES!!!
- IG-88 w/Gun capturing Chewie and holding his hands for most of the game. Dangit Charlie! (nice play)
- Home One blowing up Falleen’s Fist (with before-mendioned IG & Chewie aboard!)... And then Charlie playing a second fist… Dangit Charlie!
- Fallen Portals at the Back Door!...and missing! Dangit again!
- Really fun game against Melody. Sorry...still didn’t give you that chance for Lightsaber Combat!

Darkside:
- Vs Drew: My deck has 3 Dookus & 3 Mauls. I had to draw my entire force pile 2 turns in a row trying to get one of them...Angst! When I finally got him though, I dropped Maul + Droids + Jango and overflowed Jedi Luke for 9 force! Sadly, I coudln’t keep the damage flowing consistently that game. That’s the first time I’ve seem Diplo working hard on the flip side. Fun game!

- Sam and I had quite the grinder: My Invasion vs his senate. I think I drained for 4 at the Throne Room almost the entire game. Late game: Time is called We both have ~14 force left. I have 12 force. Dooku in hand. He has H1 Naboo (I’m not flipped) + HCF at Chandrilla. He has a Leia sitting alone at a site. I have to decide: try to clear Leia so he can’t satisfy Coward anymore OR or drain for 6 force and pull a Droid off of Droid Racks. I choose the former. (because I’m an idiot and forgot he had First Strike! CURSES!!!). His turn, he drains and time is up. I have 9 in my life force. He has 9 in life force…. Oh geeeze….my first ever timed game and we’re tied.. We count lost piles… Sam: 24. Me: 32 Dangit! Had I played Dooku and drawn a 3+, I would have won. Oh well..hindsight. That was a great game though. Lots of fun!

Ha ha ha. What a great time.

Probably a lot of other highlights there too. Overall, I went 3 and 3, so I was happy. I think that was the most fun I’ve had in a tournament in a long time. I'm going to post my Profit deck in the deck discussion tonight. I really think that deck has a lot of promise (maybe just a new guy at the helm). Hopefully at least I've shown it's respectable.

Everybody I played against really seemed to be there for fun and to enjoy the game, which makes everything that much more enjoyable. I met a few more new guys that I hadn't met before too. Bespin (true story, my browser just tried to auto-correct that to 'bedpan') is such a great region with so many great people. Can't ask for a better crowd!

I saw one guy playing flip-falcon but I think that was it. Saw some Reys, Kylo, and at least one Finalizer. A couple senate decks with the new stuff.

I played Old Allies for LS and Jakku CRv Troopers for DS.
OA went 0-3 though I lost to Tat CRv Space and TTO by less than 5.
Troopers went 2-1. Won against Senate (fun game during a bye) and LS Combat and lost to TRM.

Thanks to Walseth for another great tournament! I wish I could come back today for States too. Good luck to all the players today and those who are going to Worlds.

14 players, Jake and Bryan both finished 5-1. Bryan agreed to give Jake the title since the same thing happened at ND States and Jake gave Bryan the title that time.

Hopefully someone has the full command cards for both events and will post them soon.
