We're at 11 players thus far.

Also interesting to know: Set 9 will - in all likelihood - be legal for this event!

Last minute information:

What is Nationals?
A tournament in which players bring one preconstructed LS deck and one preconstructed DS deck (60 cards) to face off over 6 rounds. Still a new player? Don't worry about it, let us know: we'll lend you decks you can learn intimately during the day and will give you tips how to play it. The latest set will be legal!

Where is the event?
Thiemeloods
Leemptstraat 34
6512 EN Nijmegen
https://thiemeloods.nl/contact1/
(ps. you can bring your own cd's or vinyl LPs to play)

How can I get there?
- Train: 7 minutes walk from the central station
- Car: free parking in the Tollenstraat & Thijmstraat (7 minutes walkig)
- Car: parking close to the location = €2.10 p/hour (bastards!)
- Car: parking garage: Keizer Karel Garage (Schaeck Mathonsingel 22) €11.00 for the day.

What's the timeplan?
10:30 - 11:00: Location doors open
11:00 - 18:00: Six rounds of 60-min playing time + 10 minutes to change

Is there any price support?
Yes! A lot! Can't share it though because of legal reasons.

How much will it cost?
12 euro's, but free if this is your first tournament!

How can you the help the organizers?
- Let me know your lunch requests. The location has much to offer regarding drinks, but only tosti's to eat (grilled cheese sandwiches) unless we ask in advance (kroketten/sandwiches/etc are possible). If you finished your game early you can also shortly go outside (beyond the service area) to eat your own food. Let me know before Thursday so I can arrange.
- Let me know your plans after 18:00. Do you want to go for drinks // dinner // do you want to go to the festival in the city center? Let me know before Thursday so I can arrange.
- Email me your decklists (with cool decknames!!) during or after the event (though make sure you do this or you will be insulted in our next newsletter!).

Hey Tom,
thanks for the infos.

1) Your original post said 6 games + final confrontation. Is that final confrontation off the table? Is it still gonna be SOS?

2) I don't much care for lunch, grilled sandwich sounds ok. Going somewhere to eat afterwards would be my preference. Or rather, our preference, my wife and our dog will join us after the tournament. Because of the dog, going to a loud concert in the festival area would not really work for us. We dont have a deadline on saturday btw, we will arrive on friday and stay till monday.

Looking forward to the weekend.

Final confrontations are match play between the top two finishers after Swiss.

Yes, of course. But will there be one for this tournament?
And if not, are there any other changes, like for example using differential instead of SOS?

The TD does need to specify if there will be a final confrontation scheduled.

For diff, I think fewer than 8 players is where many people draw the line for switching to diff. But it's up to the TD.

Wait, what? At what point do they decide then?

That seems like a way to create conflicts of interest.

TD (or his friend) is in first place after 6 games, but has a bad matchup vs the second place person's decks.

"Welp, guess we have no final confrontation today."

Seems like this is exactly the sort of thing that should be specified ahead of time.

(Not that any of the Dutch players would do this, I'm just saying as a matter of form, it should always be specified before, and should be a requirement to be specified as "6 games + finals" or "6 games, no finals".)

1. We got the room until 18:15 and 6 games would therefore fit the schedule perfectly! No final confrontation. It is still SoS.
2. Great! I'll pm you guys with some good options for dinner. The main festivals are a bit further away from the tournament location (looking at some dinner options closeby), the dog should be fine.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I think I pm-ed you my mobile phone number. Feel free to contact me on Telegram or Whatsapp.

Congrats Fox!

I'll be curious to see his AOBS.

Surprised Bastian took HD, with the OA potential.
