Fred's HD(V) takes the first semi-finals game by 24 over Herold's Rebel Senate. The Brian vs Brian match continues.

Rick has just managed to come back from being overflown by 25 to win by 13. He had the advantage of being slaughtered by the Seth's deck in the swiss and knew what was coming.

Seth takes Rick by...13? Tiebreakers are needed and Rick advances as the higher seed.

I have some pictures I'll get up later, but I didn't get to capture one of the great moments: one of the Revell's pulling a Jedi Luke from their prize support pack of DS2.

Brian takes a long game one with his dark and Rick conceded game 2 due to a long drive and overwhelming exhaustion. Congrats to Brian Fred, East National Champ. And congrats to Rick for a well played day and his consolation prize of a V-Card design.

Time to pass out and prepare for Indy States tomorrow.

Brian Herold - Hunt Down (V) and Rebel Senate
Seth Acree - CCT Death March and WYS Raiders
Rick Z - Hunt Down Non-V and WYS Non-Raiders
Brian Fred - Hunt Down (V) and WYS Raiders
John Anderson - Hunt Down (V) and WYS Non-Raiders
Matt Jourdan - SYCFA CPI and Restore Freedom Quads
Matthew Brown - Hunt Down Non-V and TiGiH Cheese
Jon Revell - Hunt Down (V) and Throne Room Mains
Sean Revell - Ral Ops and WYS Non-Raiders

As you can imagine, the number of WYS vs Hunt Down matches was astronomical.

I would have expected a lot more CPIv, making Quads a decent choice.

quads has been the rage online and it gets old, and alot of the people testing CPIv did it online. so you'd be up against people w/ experience in the matchup. i dunno quads is just a bad deck.

Maybe Liberation quads, but I don't see how regular quads does well against a well-tuned CPI.

Congrats Seth! Great showing. Too bad that you didn't win the tiebreaker and make it to the finals.

Then you play HDv and lose? Or am I missing something? I assume most HDv are playing at least 2 BG sites with the new react-a-vader stuff now so I don't see how quads wins that matchup. And a good HDv will run at least some space so DS will be messing with LS and LS will be paying for BP all game and letting DS pull its red and retrieve. Also, I assume ROPs rapes it too as would DS senate. I don't see how quads is good unless you're just going to say "well, I'm only going to face IE and CPIv today so f-it, I'm playing quads."

Hey guys,

For whatever it's worth, I played quads because I was having fun with it online, and I hadn't really tested any other LS decks for the event. I could have went with the Jedi deck that I had ran for the last year, but I wanted to switch it up. I knew I wasn't going to win the thing, so i just went with what I had been having fun with. Also, I did expect more CPIv or space. I didn't expect quite as much HDv as I saw. But then Rick, Fred, and I were also the only ones from my local meta there that I had played in the last year. Matthew Brown was coming but I hadn't played him in ages to get a feel for what he'ld be playing.

I figured that the deck was a bit weak against HDv, but I figured I could pull out at least 1 win with it maybe 2. That is pretty much what it did. I won once with it.

So yeah, there is no reason to grind this into the ground. I mean if it was like Fred or Herald playing quads trying to win the event, then that is one thing... I was just playing to have fun.
