I tried stunning leader on my wife, but her ability was too low, and she was not amused. I think maybe she is more of a creature then a character, will write back with further details.

Correction- it WAS easy to do. It isn't any more, at least at GenCon.

When- early August, most likely the second weekend.
Where- current frontrunner is Philadelphia. We're getting a screamin' deal on this place for the MPC and are strongly considering just booking it again.

has anything about comic-con been decided yet? that seems like a good place and time to host west nationals, although seattle and colorado would be legit alternate sites as well. but mainly i'm wondering if there is a desire to run something around comic-con

also, with brad eier retired, is anything brewing in regards to east nationals?

and yes it is true that we here in colorado would like to host west nats

colorado has a good play group that has some top players in it

Brian Hunter
Tom McGee
Jan Westergaard
Myself (tremendous slouch)
Maven
at least 10 more would show for a big event (team wyoming, fanchi, matt riecks, corey degroot etc)

we have a great place to run it at which we held tatooine regos at last year, a free room so long as each patron orders a meal from the resturant thats attached, and waitresses come by every once in a while and refill your glass of soda/water/coffee etc

I'm sure I can get myself and at least 2, maybe 3 other players from Utah.

You can't count fanchi unless you can convince him to play, which isn't guaranteed.

I would love to host W-Nats, and have been trying to convince Chris.
Colorado is amazing to visit, and the place where we would play is a pretty cool facility, its a meeting room thats connected to a diner. In return for getting the space for free we are supposed to get food there... and while their food is amazing and very reasonably priced, the best is having a waitress bring your food to you between games / refilling your soda constantly, etc.
Well, Bye.

If someone can convince me to play, then I can convince him to play.

There are a few problems with Comic-Con:
1. It's already sold out for Friday & Saturday, so that would leave Thursday as the only day people could actually go to the con (assuming there were still tournaments Sunday).
2. It is only 3 weeks before Worlds, so it would compete for travel dollars, I'd think. If this is not the case, that's good news I suppose.
3. Being Comic-Con weekend itself, everything is booked/expensive. The only reason Kevin, Aaron and I didn't lose money on the event last year was because we didn't end up having to pay people who weren't ourselves as much prize money.
also, with brad eier retired, is anything brewing in regards to east nationals?
No one as yet has offered to step forward and run it, at Origins or otherwise. If anyone wants to, please feel free to drop me a line.
Brad Eier wrote:is there any plan to consolidate the nationals into 1 event this year
Are there compelling reasons to?
JediJer wrote:I've heard that the CO crew is wanting to host WNats.
Colorado is definitely the early frontrunner. I haven't received any requests from other areas to hold it, and with the near-dissolution of the Seattle player base, holding it there again seems unlikely. So Colorado is the most logical choice, and will probably hold it unless someone blows me away with an amazing alternative.

Do we have a date for the MPC yet?
