The 61 players was partly due to World's being earlier this year so that those that teacher, those in college/school, and many working (who find it easier to get off in Summer than Fall) could attend.

I hope the player's committee considers doing so again next year to maximize the number of players. I also heard several were able to make it to play as they could tack it onto the beginning or end of a vacation trip.

For each person you can name that was able to attend because they can't be bothered to take days off of work in October, I can name someone that couldn't attend simply because it was in August.

Neither Kevin nor Aaron missed Worlds because it was in August rather than October, it just happened that they both had prior commitments on that specific weekend.

Day 2 Game 1 my Watto vs. Jonny Chu's Profit. I was not playing with a full deck, literally. I had 57 cards in my main deck and only 11/12 shields. I had hand written 'v' on white slips on typing paper for my virtual cards as I had no time to print them off before the event since I had spent all my time in the bar/drinking prior to taking 2nd place in the sealed event to qualify and staying up all night taking 2nd place in the iron man. I have more 2nd/3rd place finishes than any player alive, heh. I also had not slept. I'll be more prepared next year and won't lose cards at the airport again either (I got most of my stuff back except for 2 boxes of cards). Jonny Chu is a great player so let's not discount that either. He wiped me off of Tatooine quickly and effectively. I should have gone to space first and not started any aliens. I suffered my biggest most embarrassing loss yet by losing by the most I've ever been beaten by 32 force!

Game 2 I get the bye :noshake: I came here to play and could've used some diff :-D

Game 3 I was to be paired up with Scott Church my Watto vs. his Combat by I then noticed my deck was not legal at all and we called over the judges who dq'ed me from the game until I brought my deck up to 60 cards for the remainder of the event. FL -30 A better performance than against Chu  God my DS deck sucked ballz.

Game 4 I am playing HB/Quads vs. the almighty Scott Lingrell who finished 1st place ahead of me in the sealed. However I managed to get my revenge :epic: by 12 force vs. his CCT my only mistake might've been not setting up Luke Skywalker (v) in space for more diff. but I was just more focused on winning the drain race before he might draw into ships and probe me, since I had flipped just in time.

Games 5 and games 6 were both timed. I won 1 by 15 against someone playing Eops and lost the other with my Watto vs. Joe Pinto's mains. Joe got his revenge from last year and when the game went timed we both had 14 cards but he had the advantage so he won.

I was 3-3 with a timed win so I dropped similar to last year. I am going to give a better performance in constructed next year so don't worry. I also plan on winning back my sealed title from Lingrell in 2011 as well. I had won in back in the 2009 day 3 sealed event.

but with Raveling, if you looked away for a second, and then looked back, he would somehow be wearing a different basketball jersey. made it loads creepier. batman creepy.

though on a more serious note, there should be. if we get some legit cube together i think it would be sweet to do a big event where cube played an integral role. like, day 1 cube, day 2 constructed.

for day 1 break it up in pods and do like 3 games in each pod, 9 total. drafts reseeded by standing

also, on topic actually, i'm down as losing to greg shaw by 12. that should be a loss by 42

for day 1 break it up in pods and do like 3 games in each pod, 9 total. drafts reseeded by standing

also, on topic actually, i'm down as losing to greg shaw by 12. that should be a loss by 42
meh, i personally dread cube games, love the drafting part, but hate actually playing them

Secret squirrel is teh funnest.

At our late night cube tourney at worlds I played One Beautiful Thing vs. Greg Shaw with Mirax and some random rebel scrub at a site, and then tracked it around the next turn with Mirax, and played it at least one more time that game, maybe more. I got a good draft that round with 2 leias, a mara, and a mirax--so I basically had one beautiful thing set up at all my sites, with next to no dark side cards on the table. Funny interactions like that are the most funnest part of cube, imho. And it just becomes way sillier and more frequent with squirrel.

Secret squirrel was a blast. I wish I had been a little less tired and more into it! I want to do another squirrel event soon.

By far the greatest part of that event was the whole room thinking for about 5 minutes that we had just broken Lone Pilot and Lone Warrior
