I agree, the windshield wiper one is top tier.

Clarification:

1. On the topic of "Does it fit the irrational pet peeve thread?", JJD's windshield wiper example is top tier. This is what I was saying.

2. On the topic of "Do I share the same pet peeve of this windshield wiper thing?" I am lukewarm like a 6 or 7 out of 10. I have never done it and don't imagine I will ever even try it once. When I see it on other cars it hits me with a tinge of silent judgement. "Why aren't you putting your wipers up like you're supposed to?" Because it's completely unnecessary, that's why.

It seems like I was mainly talking about point #1 while Hunter is talking mainly about point #2.

What's the point of the wiper thing? And why does it annoy you?

In my eyes, putting the wipers in that position is totally irrational.
With enough snow, you still have to clean the snow off your car and defrost your windshield. I guess ive never tried myself, but you arent really doing anything helpful for yourself as far as I can tell.

Re: windshield wipers... They point straight up to prevent freezing to the window. Aesthetically, it is an eyesore, but there are reasons that aren't insane.

I walk to work most of the time and sometimes go days without driving. After a lot of freezing and thawing with the weather here, my wipers are sometimes encased in ice, and chipping it off in a timely manner can really mess with the rubber. I should honestly start putting them up!

i never tried to claim it wasn't still irrational. it can be both irrational and unexplainable, but just because it's irrational does't mean it's unexplainable.

you're keeping a bunch of ice from forming onto the blades, which can be a lot harder to melt/chip off
