Exclaiming that you're "Living your best life" or "living your truth". Beat it

For some reason, I'm not into Pink Floyd anymore, despite them being my favorite band from 2000-2004 or so. Bothers me because I have no reason why I don't care for them anymore.

You sound just like my Dad (except that the 2000-2004 would be a different set of dates).
Maybe Pink Floyd is just something people eventually grow out of. Personally, I never really saw the appeal.

Yeah but everybody knows that if it lands on 0 or 00 then it's highly unlikely for it to land on there again next spin.
Isn't that not true? There is just as likely a chance that it lands on those numbers again as any other specific number? Interestingly known as the Gambler's Fallacy
It's definitely true, how do you think people make money on roulette Shawn???
I appreciate the subtle sarcasm.

Since we are talking about just stuff that annoys us: people using "sarcasm" font or using "/s". If you have to tell people you are being sarcastic, you are doing it wrong.

I was really into them after their reunion for Live 8, which was in 2005. After I graduated college in 2007 I started getting into some other stuff, but i'd still play a Pink Floyd song from time to time. Hearing the cover of Eclipse during the Dune trailer was pretty cool. Definitely put listened to Dark Side after that.

The only way to make up that advantage is to do a progressive betting system, which is a gambler's fallacy in my opinion. That double or nothing attitude until you break even.
Double or nothing is not progressive betting

It is a form of negative progressive betting where you raise your bets when you lose and decrease when you win vs positive progression where you do the opposite.

As usual, you are misinformed. That IS NOT what Poe's Law states.

See? Hunter provides a great example.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe%27s_law

My joke about Poe's Law was sarcasm.

Hunter's response? Could be sarcastic, and he got the joke and was doing over the top satire of his own.

But knowing Hunter, it could also be totally genuine, not understanding what others are talking about yet convinced he's correct.

Not being able to tell is a perfect example of Poe's Law.

Thus why some people, when wanting to be perfectly clear, will use /s.

Thanks Brian! Well done, either way.

Yeah, the saying he wasn't familiar with Poe's Law was genuine, then going on to say that Poe's Law had to do with the SWCCG card was the sarcastic part.

But hard to legit tell, apparently.

If only they had a phrase for that...

I can't tell if you are serious about not knowing whether Hunter was serious. It's Poe's Laws all the way down.

I was not aware of Poe's Law, but that is the kind of thing I love, so thank you for educating me. However, I am still annoyed that people "wanting to be perfectly clear, will use /s". Sarcasm a Well executed sarcasm won't fall into Poe's law because it is either intentionally ambiguous, or extremely obvious. If someone can't tell that it's sarcasm, they are dumb. Poorly executed sarcasm may be ambiguous, at which point the person doing it is dumb and shouldn't be doing it. Instead, they slap an /s to show everyone they suck at sarcasm.

neurodivergent people often have trouble interpreting sarcasm and advocate for the sign. in regular conversation, tone of voice is the typical marker, but in text there's no marker.

Yeah, I don't use "/s." If someone can't tell when I'm being sarcastic, I'm just fine leaving them behind.
