Exactly. Doesn't seem like a 2020-2021 thing. 1933 it is.

Looked up the other one as well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat-a-cak ... er%27s_man

The earliest recorded version of the rhyme is from 1698, and has pat a cake. The next appearance is in Mother Goose's Melody (c. 1765) which uses patty cake.

So both have been around since before the Declaration of Independence.

I can’t stand when people use their teeth to get food off their fork. But I’m pretty sure this is mostly a woman thing to avoid eating lipstick 🤷‍♂️

Ordered food from a restaurant and one of the vegan options was listed as Carrots with Sunflower "Honey" (honey in quotation marks, as listed on the menu) Then realized, "oh yeah, of course honey isn't vegan". But yeah, never acknowledged it as such and felt like a silly goose.

PS: I am not vegan. (felt the need to acknowledge this)

Chain smoking Instacart shoppers. Irrational because there is inherent risk when you're forgoing the grocery store on your own.

People who care about differentiating between the two, when it's obvious what is meant.

nothing was unclear, you just wanted to try to show you're smart by saying "bUt AcTuAlLy..."

1. I didn't know this thread was a place to judge other peoples pet peeves. Don't be a dick.

2. Is it obvious? Lots of countries don't observe daylight savings time, or people forget. I've had it add to confusion. If YOUR* going to be fancy to try and put in your time zone, put in the right one.

(Its obvious I meant you're)

It absolutely makes a difference when working with people around the world. I work with internationally based translators and if I tell them the deadline for something right now is 12:00 PM EDT and they're in India, they'll look up what 12:00 PM EDT is in Indian time and it will give them a different time than what I actually want (12:00 PM EST).

it's a thread for ranting about things that bother us. this is one of mine. don't be a dick.

in 99% of cases we experience, yes it's going to be obvious.

obviously matt if you're conducting international business you want to be precise. most of the time for us it doesn't matter.

How on earth would you remember something like that 1+ years later?

What all stuff do you have stored in your head, and why??

I was thinking the same thing before I was rudely sidetracked.

I 100% expect him to be accommodating to all of our various pet peeves in any social setting now.

I've never heard a version of the Three Little Pigs where more than one of them survives.
Ditto. Only in cartoon versions. Maybe everyone here was just traumatized by it as a child and blocked it out.

I bet Ya'll think Little Red Riding Hood never got devoured by a wolf either

Seeing this creep up on the forums lately, and not judging anyone, but the 'it's a feature, not a bug' phrase annoys me.

The media's propensity towards the term "Under fire" for stuff that no one really cares about but a few people with no real problems belly ache about it on social media.
