I just finished binge watching casa de papel (aka money heist) on Netflix. It's really fun to watch. The transition and series extension from being local to netflix owned is a bit obvious and annoying, but I am looking forward to the next season whenever that comes.

I should get a free trial to watch Cobra Kai, I really liked season 1.

Hanna season 2 just came out on Amazon Prime, that was pretty good if one likes spy stuff.

Rick And Morty season 4 redeemed the series for me.

I was ready to declare it DOA after the stink sandwich that was season 3.

Wow.

I loved season 3, and hated about 3/4ths of Season 4.

I wonder which of ours is the hot take.

Is it worth it? Honest question.

Episode 1 of season 1 was broadcast for free over here and I watched that. Not really bad, but nothing that would make me buy D+ because of it.
I watched The Last Jedis for the second time yesterday (first time was on a plane screen during a night flight, so I only remembered it vaguely) and it was pretty bad. I did like Rogue One though.

So if you watched it all, where would you rate Mandalorian? Any other TV series to compare it with?

I would compare it to any show where only 1/3rd of the episodes move the plot. So maybe Walking Dead (but I haven't watched that in years, so who knows if that's an appropriate comparison). Maybe X-Files, which had shows that moved the plot, but also 'Monster-of-the-week" episodes. However, in the X-Files example, Monster of the Week episodes didn't feel like filler.

Lets be fair, it was 50%. Episodes 1, 3, 7, and 8 are the plot episodes.

Episode 2 is debatable.

I finally got around to watching Rebels and it was amazing, particularly the first season and the last season (Season 4). I still hold Mando in high regard but I consider Rebels the gold standard for a Star Wars TV show.

Rebels is truly awesome. rumor has multiple Rebels characters appearing Mando season 2....

I think the Mandalorian is the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Rogue One. It captures the feel and look of Star Wars and lets me have more time in the world of Star Wars, so i'm ready to overlook what others see as flaws.

Full disclosure, I'm a Star Wars fanboy. They could make a claymation Christmas special out of literal pieces of poo and I'd still enjoy watching it. Additionally, anything Boba Fett/Mandalorian related, I'm a super fanboy.

That said, Gergall's breakdown of which episodes actually move the plotline needle is correct.

From what I have read in teasers, this could be another instance like Rebels where Season 1 introduced characters and set the scene but generally nothing special, and Season 2 going forward the show really takes off. In addition to what others mentioned, I've also heard rumors of appearances from Boba Fett (how the heck did he get out of the Sarlacc?!?!) and according to Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon/Gus Fring) we're going to see just how much of a badass Gideon is this season...
