What is the rules/errata used for this tournament? Latest AR (along with Operatives rules, HB errata etc) or whatever was valid 2000?

I would suggest all the current (as of 2012) rules & errata be applied for the Y2K format as well. Its enough to have to build decks from a completele different card-set than we're used to, without also having to remember exactly which of the rules we know today were active back in 2000. 2012-Rules in a 2000-cardpool gets my vote.

Sounds good to me, although Kristian Lund has the final word on this.

If you use the old rules, and creatures don't suck completely, you would probably have DDM play this. ;)

Yeah, we will play with current operative rules, and current erratas for previous cards (such as HB).

Newer keywords such as Heroic will not be in affect, even though early cards have later gained those keywords.

Regarding creatures *sigh*, I would need your input on that, as I am not sure if the old creature rules allow for some crazy abuse which I am not familiar with.

To put it short, I want people to be able to construct similar decks as the ones being played back in 2000, but do not want people to be able to create old exploitive decks due to unwanted card interactions (ie. you will not be allowed to place dark side's entire lost pile out of play using OOC, Hiding in the Garbage and Descent into the Dark).

Finally, we will play with the current battleground rules. No funky Anger, Fear, Aggression + Come Here You Big Coward blowouts.

Additional questions can be posted in this thread or sent to me as a PM, and I will address them in this post.

Sounds good Kristian.

Concerning creatures, I don't recall any oldtime strategies that abused them really badly, but on the other hand, does anyone even still remember the old creature rules? I'd say just stick with the new creature rules and avoid any confusion. Pretty much the only creature that got played back in the day (that I remember) were Bupo, and maybe the Sleen/Nudj thingies for unbalanced DBO madness :)

Also, is it ok if I put Shadows Of The Empire in my deck? Please? ;)

Ok this Y2K tournament is something I really, REALLY dig! That means I have to scratch myself from cube 1 and perhaps also the team event.

Maybe I can go into the doodle-poll and just change it myself?

And we'll see about who the real Vikings are when we get to Bochum...prepare for a surprise :epic:

You don't need to scratch anything. These tournaments follow each other.

WE WON'T START WITH THE NEXT TOURNEY TILL THE PREVIOUS ONE IS FINISHED.

And regarding creature rules, I was kidding. Just use the new ones. :)

I don't want to step on any toes but I say all the current rules and errata have to be in place for this tournament to work. Otherwise, it would be a cluster *.

The way it's been done in the states is that all current rulings and errata are in place except that substituted destinies don't count again battle destiny limits (since we can't have the abyss or chasm shields this becomes a rule)

Then thats how we shall do it. Makes most sense anyway, and all current rules are fresh in mind for everyone (or should be).

If substituted destinies do not count against limit, can you - when able to draw 2 destinies - play smoke screen and still draw two? I have NEVER heard about that.

It means if you can draw two destinies and Guri limits it to one, you can play smoke screen and draw a destiny.
