I'd be down with swapping the dates of Nationals and Bespon Super Weekend too... so, should we make a poll to gauge interest?

I'd be fine with just saying the dates and then put them in stone, but a poll would work
Thanks!

June 8-10 will be great for me. Lets set that in stone for Nationals. I'll look at July for Super weekend.

I'll run it or Mark Peterson can. We need to decide on a place to hold it. TCC might not be an option, and Legion games might not be either.

I don't love the hotel idea if we don't have a lot of people traveling cause the rooms can get spendy.

Brady can you see if there is a hotel with cheap space for 30 players or a VFW or something really close to a hotel on your side of town?

I wanted to write all this down to get it in one spot. I must have missed the thread where MN is hosting Nationals this year (which is awesome).

ND States: May 19th.
US Nationals : June TBD (Please try to avoid Father's Day weekend).
Bespin Super Weekend: July TBD (I vote we pick a weekend that Garrett can TD)
North America Big Event: August TBD (This may be announced somewhere, I'll edit later)

If Nationals pushes to the back of June (say, the 23rd/24th), then we could slot the Rosemount Invitational in for the weekend of June 9th / 10th. This would effectively make it a local, which probably doesn't meet Mark's needs for a new player fund-raiser style event. Between the MPC and TMW, I don't really see a gap in the travel schedule that would accomodate any out of state travelers coming.

I really don't like this set up. School would have just been dismissed... I question whether Walseth can get something together with graduations and stuff going on that weekend.

Again, I have ran SWCCG for decades and offer the opportunity to do so again... But if you want Garrett, I will respectfully back out now.

My side of town sucks for hotels, but there's a VFW in Rosemount we could probably use. There won't be many hotels nearby, which would suck for the out of towners. I have no idea what the cost would be, but the hotels around the MOA would likely be the most popular option. Easy as hell to get there from the airport on the light rail and then the MOA / Light Rail is right there for any other sightseeing people might want to do when not playing cards.

If I had to guess a place to try first, I think the Marriott by the MOA would be it. I've been in there a couple of times when friends from college were in town (staying there for work) and I think it would have everything we want, but I'm not sure on the $$.

June 8-10 would be solid for Nationals.

a vfw might be an issue for rosemounters (or their parents), right?

so the strip club is out too?

Let's look at Legion first... then TCC... then plan C, D, and E.

Peter I thought you said June 8-10 was good for you.

The next weekend is out for me, due to a wedding that I can't get out of.

23-24 is also very bad, as in likely not possible.

What day works for you?

Mark if we tried to split the difference on distance and held it somewhere nearer MOA would you have any trouble getting Rosemounters out there?

Legion would be awesome but I don't know that they schedule that far in advance. If they do I'm all in on that spot.

Chris if it tempts you more I can probably get us a pair of Very good seats for a Twins game.

Yeah I'll gladly go with anyone to a Twins game. Target Field is great! I don't believe I have any summer weekends that are totally off limits (other than July 1) so I should be able to plan around these no matter when they are.

I say marriot or another hotel. Legion games, vfw, and tcc should be way on the bottom of the list
Thanks!

Whoa, so this is the forums. I think I've been here before...

I didn't see anyone mention Misty Mountain games in Burnsville. Their old location had a ton of room, and I'm guessing their new location does also. Plus it's not too far off I35.

Mark I will provide cards if you & the crew need. I'm probably, uh, lets say transitioning, out of the game in the near future, so I'm sure I can find a few good cards for your crew. At the very least a bunch to loan out.

Dates are open for me as of now.
I make excellent Manhattans.

At great personal risk, I'm going to agree with Cooleo. As long as we don't stick a major event on Father's Day weekend and we have 1 in June and 1 in July, we've met my requests.

Mark's event is somewhat getting lost in the shuffle here, but I don't really see a good way to sneak it in with Nationals being here. Maybe we could run some fun Friday events geared toward raising some cards for the newer players.

OK, just saw that Peter mentioned Legion games, which was the gamestore formerly called Misty Mountain. Good call, Peter.

And don't get me started on how much I hate the lightrail.
