No offense, Walseth, but this is the exact opposite of how it works- the higher the variance, the more incentive there is to chop.Walsetmd wrote: I think the bigger the spread between first and 2nd place, the less likely will see people take a "chop" and really play for it

I still like an $800 first place.

Hey Guys -
Some of you seem to know the area well. Are there places within walking distance (couple blocks at most) for people to get food, or should I be telling my parents to send a pack lunch with all my students.
Thanks,
Walseth
P.S. The energy in Rosemount is off the charts for my players...

1.) Eddignton's Soup (closed Sunday)
2.) errrr 3 not by hotel (oops) DQ Grill n Chill
3.) By the hotel, Chillis
4.) Burger King
5.) TGI Fridays
Chillis is the only reasonable place in walking distance

Re: Event Details
hey there, i was just wondering if all cards are allowed in the tournament including V cards? I have a group of some former-top 100 star wars players in the world coming Saturday and Sunday. We all need to trade/buy defensive shields and a few other cards, please help us old timers! we are all formally from duluth. Hi Mark Walseth. chris haglund, travis dahle, travis bean will be there saturday 9am and hopefully mike bergum and matt potter also make it; hopefully you remember us =). please help us complete our decks so we can support the game and play again after an 11 year dry spell.

Holy * potter and bergum might show up? That would be awesome.
That'd make it three former world champs.

traditionally for a tourney you eat breakfast, don't eat lunch, and then eat dinner with erybody afterwardsWalsetmd wrote:Hey Guys -

Sorry fisherizzo47, in expressing excitement that potter and bergum might be here, I didn't mean to insult the rest of you guys. Of course it's awesome that you'll be able to make it also.
Not sure which of the three you are, but the name Chris Haglund rings a bell, I must have played him at some point back in the day. Bean I know I played a couple of times and I remember a random late night poker session at Canterbury a few years ago where I sat at the same table as him.

Wow...fisherizzo47 wrote:We are all formally from duluth. Hi Mark Walseth. chris haglund, travis dahle, travis bean will be there saturday 9am and hopefully mike bergum and matt potter also make it; hopefully you remember us =).

Speechless... OK, well I guess this is as good as a time for a flashback into my history... The year was 94' SWCCG just came out, blah blah blah, I was TD for Decipher in Duluth, blah blah blah, worked at a comic book store, blah blah blah, Chris Haglund, Travis Dahle, Travis Bean, Mike Bergum, and Matt Potter were part of the local crew.
I can't believe you guys caught wind of this!!! I mean it's literally been like 12 Years. Please come and join the fun. Thanks for showing your support for Nationals Weekend here in MN.
Ummmm... I hear you guys need shields. Sadly I'm not much help here. All of my shield sets get soaked up every year by my new players... I should have the Starting Effects themselves but not so sure about the actual shields.
Please post here or send me a Private Message (if you don't want your old school decks leaked

Does Matt Potter have an account here yet? He needs a world champion avatar.
