Sealed Tournament
Registration Start: 14:00
Event Start: 15:00
Entry Fee: 10-15 Euro
Number of Games: 4
Number of Expected players: 10-20 (we have starters/boosters for 24 players)
Tournament Style: Sealed
Ranking/Pairing System: Differential
Requirements: No deck lists required, open to all players
Event Details:
You will receive a Premiere Starter and 2-3 boosters A New Hope. You and another player will divide your LS/DS cards, so that you only have one side. Then 45 card decks will be build out of all your cards. Players then play 4 games of 45 min. A player will only play one side (LS/DS) for the whole tournament. For more details see the tournament guide.

Team Tournament
Registration Start: 19:00

Ranking/Pairing System: Differential
b]Rules:[/b] 2 players will build one team. One play DS and one plays LS. Total results count.
Requirements: No deck lists required, open to all players
Event Details:
This is easy. Bulid a team of 2 players, and give yourselves a cool name (for example “Massacre Machine” or “Viking Squad 1”). One of the players has a DS deck and the other a LS deck. This will be as a normal constructed tournament, only that one team plays against another team. This might be a good last chance to test your deck for next day.

Tournament Start: 11:00 am

The tournament will start at 11:00 am. Please be prepared, have deck lists ready, and be registered by 10:45 am latest.

Europeans Day 3 Tournament

Number of Expected players: 8 (couldn’t resist)
Tournament Style: Match Play (only reset v-cards allowed)
Ranking/Pairing System: Elimination
Requirements: Deck lists required (deck check during games), only open to Top 8 Day 2 players!
Final Confrontation: Top 2 players will play the final confrontation.
Event Details:
Day 3 Match play elimination event. Only the Top 8 from Day 2 can play. No additional entry fee.
Higher seed chooses first means, player 1 plays against player 8 in first round and chooses the side (DS/LS) he plays first.

Legacy Consolation Tournament
Registration Start: 11:30
Event Start: 12:00
Entry Fee: 5-10 Euro
Number of Games: 4
Number of Expected players: 10-15
Tournament Style: Swiss Constructed (all v-Cards allowed, incl. old “legacy” v-cards)
Ranking/Pairing System: Differential
Requirements: No deck lists required, open to all players
Event Details:
The Consolation Tourney is for all others who did not “make” the Top 8 on Day 2. There are NO deck lists required for this event, and the “nothing to lose” atmosphere is usually much more cheerful that the one for the Top players. We could use some help with running the consolation tourney. Potential helper can still play.

This will be a legacy event, so you can use all those old virtual cards (Slave I Symbol of Fear, Rebel Leadership V, etc.). The meta and all cards will be exactly as at the EC 2014, so you may bring your old decks and shields.

I hope we'll be a lot of players!!! Looking forward to see you all again! Have fun!

Essen Spiel is the weekend prior... and Oktoberfest the weekend before that...

Seems like a good vacation.

Just for clarification: If you write about Day 2 "all V-Cards allowed" and about Day 3 "only reset-V-Cards allowed", does the first mean the same as the second? Greetings Babba

Can you please clarify what you mean by this. (No, I'm not going to be there, but this should still be clarified for those that will be there)
Does this mean cards from Standard that have different text than the Legacy version are the only valid version or can you play either version?
For example, if I want to play a deck with the Legacy Endor Shield v is that allowed, or do I have to use the Standard version of Endor Shield v? If both versions are legal, then that seems like it will get very confusing for players, having to check which version of a card is in play. If only the Standard version is allowed, then that completely changes how decks will be built and it isn't truly a legacy event.
I can see something like this happening:
"You can't take Piett into hand with Endor Shield v"
"Yes I can, this is the Standard version, not the Legacy version, and either version is legal in this tournament"
"But this is a Legacy event, not a Standard event"
" :??? "

Or other cards like R2-D2 v which is completely different from the Legacy version. Or Stalker v (Set 1) and Devastator v (Legacy). Some cards from Set 1 are toned down from their Legacy versions, like Jabba's Haven or Seeking An Audience v and completely change which decks they would go in.

Also, due to how far away this is, there will be many more cards released that will be completely different than their Legacy version, and allowing both the old and new (or just the new) versions will have even more of an impact on deck building.

You're right, Jer. Thanks for noticing it in time.

I have changed the last sentence to "The meta and all cards will be exactly as at the EC 2014, so you may bring your old decks and shields."

Everything else would probably be a nightmare to handle.

Speaking of that. Do you think there is a lot of people wanting to play in the Legacy tournament? Just curious. I may or may not make top 8, which could easily decide whether or not I have anything to do on the sunday. Just curious if you believe there'll be a larger attendance than some other kind of consolation event?

To tell the truth, Casper, I have no idea.

I just know that several players approached me at the EC and asked me not to let the legacy format die. That will be hard, but I will at least give it a good spot, and we will see afterwards. The other option was doing it for the team event, but there are always some players who need to test their decks, so I decided against doing it as a team tourney.

I was pretty much thinking the same thing. It's one thing players putting their hands in the air in September 2014 but another thing entirely when it comes to building decks a year later. Unfortunately Chris is in a bit of a lose-lose situation here: if he runs the legacy consolation tournament (which he should and I'm sure that he will) then there is a risk that hardly anyone will want to play in it; if he doesn't run it then he would have gone back on his word (I actually don't think that there is a problem with this - we all respect what Chris does and know that he will only make decisions based on what he believes is best for the community).

For me personally, I have already unsleeved all of my legacy decks and I have no interest whatsoever in building them again for a one-off tournament that I hope to not be playing in. If someone has some decks available then I'll happily play. I would equally support almost any format to play on the Sunday (Bith Shuffle, sealed, cube, classic, etc.).

Just to make it abundently clear. I do support doing the Legacy event. I think it's important to, at a bare minimum, give those who wish it, the opportunity to play Legacy at EC, even if they can't do so in the main tournament. If nobody at all shows for the Legacy tournament, we talk about changing it for '16.

Who knows. Maybe I'll resleeve that Scoundrel deck again... ever so fun :)
