I regret to inform everyone that the Wawa across the street closed on Saturday.

Yes, this was an incident important enough to warrant journalism.....

Spideguy, I talked with Wirfs and Joe Olsen and they said you might have space Thursday for me. If so, please let me know. I am flying in from Seattle on Thursday morning. Thanks!

I don't think we're going to be going here again I just received $300 in charges because of the outside food and drink I'm going to try and talk to the hotel but who the hell knows where this is going.

Did it say no outside food or drink in the contract?

It did. But the problem was the bar where they wanted us to eat from was closed every day until 5pm and we didn't know that. Plus the person we did the contract with quit.

@swccg
Were you supposed to starve every day before 5pm or what did they expect for a group that was booked for the entire weekend?

As a group we did order plenty from the bar, I don't know if it set some kind of minimum spend or something like that? It's not like we ordered nothing from their bar/restaurant. We just had to supplement based on their hours.

Scott, I just send you a mail with some data of the (new?) general manager.

I gave a bad review on their service (and a good one on everything else) and they responded to that. Maybe we can use that.

If push comes to shove, I'll gladly donate $20 to the cause since I did bring in outside food and drink, and lots of it! Also, might this be a reason to have Worlds in Seattle next year...I hear they are more Liberal!

Sorry I was wrong the charges are $650 I spoke to the hotel and they're going to look at getting it resolved whatever the hell that means so I'll keep you up to date. I don't expect anybody to provide us with money that's not necessary.

You realize this charge is there because of unions right?

@swccg
Sounds like 65 people X $10 for one meal / drink each person didn't buy at the hotel (if I had to guess how they came up with that number).

Yeah, that was my guess to. Arbitrary as *. I spent at least 6x that amount in the bar, the few times it was open when I was there.

But a lot of people did buy at least $10 of stuff from the hotel.
