I blame Tom's awkward nonversation with Gergall for this problem. Probably scared the poor guy from ever attending a major event again. 8>

There usually is. Apparently there was a miscommunication this year.

I'll take the heat for this one. I thought Scott had told me that he'd gotten a rules team member on board, but apparently that was a miscommunication. It's already on my list for next year to be certain that a member of the rules team is able to be there in person.

This week was pretty awesome.

Thanks to Scott, Kim, Greg, and Gogolen and everyone else who helped!
(I know I forgot a couple people who helped a lot so please chime in and give them props too.)

This weekend went really smoothly and professionally. Kim always does an awesome job. Getting 60+ players to play 8 games in one day and finish at a decent hour is a pretty incredible task that she does every year. The banners looked great and make us appear pretty legit. And we had no shortage of events to play in over the weekend.

Thanks to the PC volunteers for all the great support with prizes, hotel, and everything else. The time and work that the PC volunteers donate to bringing us all together at these events is the reason this is able to keep going on.

One of the best parts of this week was getting to hang out with:

-Good friends that I only get to see a few times a year.
-A lot of people that I had seen online or read their names in tournament standings, but never really got to hang out with much.
-Spending some time to sit down and play some games with people I knew but never had a chance to talk with enough.

Thanks to the Europeans: Angelo, Chris Menzel and Emil for traveling so far to hang out with us and for the AI v-slips from the community over there. Those things rock and it was an awesome gesture to have our friends over there reach out to us. I really hope to be able to make it over there sometime soon and meet everyone.

Thanks to everyone else who flew out. Its pretty awesome having friends from all over: Tx, Seattle, Canada, Minnesota, etc that travel so often for these things.

When I came back to the game 4 years ago, I had hoped it would be a good way to meet some new people and have some fun. I had no idea that the quality of friendships and people in this community would be so high and such a blast to hang out with. It's hard to find the words that express how great this group of people are and my appreciation for being a part of it.

Yes, Worlds was awesome, but it needs 100% more Greg Zinn. :-D

If my math is correct, wouldn't that still be 0 Greg Zinn?

How about: I think Greg Zinn being @ worlds should be like a 2nd scheduled battle destiny after the first one is drawn!

I think we're all in agreement that Worlds has an implied target of at least 1 rules team member or it cannot be initiated. That was definitely a misplay.

Mark, Tim, and I all volunteered our phone numbers to assist remotely. Mark did end up fielding some questions but I assume that was only a small fraction of the total rulings.

Since Mark is the ultimate authority and was available, Tim and I did not get any calls.

You and the PC are amazing. I look forward to this and the MPC each year. I remember the first MPC.... we played in some stuffy basement in a random card shop in PA.... now we play at the Hyatt every year. You've turned these events into annual gatherings in which winning is great, but people fly from all over the world to mostly see old faces and have a good time.

IMO, there is only thing you could do.... never leave! Keep the PC going. :-D Thanks, Scott.

And big freaking props to Kim for running these events! Seriously!!!!
This! Will have more later though.

So last weekend never happened then, since it created an invalid state?

The handling of misplays is really more of a tournament question.
