Friday Mystery Event
Re: Friday Mystery Event
I would love to know if the files to create these will be available. My oldest son is 8 and is at a place where he can really start to learn the game, and having something with a basic objective would be awesome.

Yes, they will be available for download, so that you can teach your son and other new players right away. Like Matt said, we will wait for the final playtesting and the decks and new cards should be available at the end of February (if no complications occur during playtesting).

No, these will be PDFs for downloading and print out.
They will be available for every-one for immediate use.
We will not sell them as a product in the store.

Stupid question - will the new cards be tournament legal, or only designed for teaching?

What about the set of underlying/needed cards? I would buy two sets of each myself.Shadow 14 wrote:No, these will be PDFs for downloading and print out.

They will be tournament legal. That was one of our intentions. We don't want cards for "just specific decks".

The decks are meant for "kitchen table" games and will be available for every-one for download.kryptofis wrote:What about the set of underlying/needed cards? I would buy two sets of each myself.Shadow 14 wrote:No, these will be PDFs for downloading and print out.

You can use any underlying card with them. (Therefore there is no reason to sell them),
They are further marked "not tournament legal" and have a special border colour to support this.
Players could re-built a set of these decks, using the real cards, and bring it to a tournament of course.

Re: Friday Mystery Event
The new cards that come in these decks will be tournament legal after playtesting/proofing/etc (sometime before spring) but in the downloadable package as Chris states they will have a special border that denotes they aren't tournament legal. They'll be tournament legal once they get their official release via the normal virtual card process.

an objective and new character for each side (and by new, I mean that this is the first appearance of these characters in the game, and not just a new persona of an existing character)

Keep them struggling for more.

The characters had a lightsaber permanent weapon with a little different function than the "usual" EPPs.
