I don't know if this has been made public yet, but I figure this is a good of a spot as any. As of now the MN Rosmeount, after school SWCCG Program is suspended. This may generate lots of questions, here's the quick version. I wanted to change the program from a school based program, to community program. If you have other questions please send to me in a PM, thanks. Below are few of the things (if time permitting) I would like to tackle this year.
Agenda Items:
1) Work in with local retailer to begin selling selling SWCCG once again
2) Recruit new players to play in the Bespin Super Weekend (and any side monthly events)
3) Create some type of "New Player Guide"
4) Host a monthly tournament, each with a different theme
5) Start a weekly or biweekly friendly get together night
And in the spirit of revealing SWCCG to a local community, the best place to start is the 3rd ANNUAL LOCAL TOURNAMENT!
Details:
Oct. 29th: We're hosting a friendly small season opener tournament. /viewt ... 94&t=63255
Oct. 30th - Nov. 11th: With the help of the Bespin Community, I would like to host nightly demonstrations at a local card store. These Demonstrations will be from 5:00 - 8:00 nightly. Over the course of 2 weeks the goal will be to expose SWCCG to the local community. With hopefully 3-5 people we will demonstrate the game and teach interested new players at the same time. People who seem interested will be invited back to attend other nightly demonstrations to learn other mechanics. Over the course of 2 weeks they are invited back to as many sessions as they would like to attend.
Session 1: Phases and Media (Facebook, and Official Website)
Session 2: Weapons and Battle
Session 3: Interrupts and Effects
Session 4: Starting Interrupts and Objectives
Session 5: Shields and Virtuals
Session 6+: Play Testing
Nov. 12th: Local Tournament. We will host 2 Tournaments simultaneously. Tournament #1 will only be open to new players who attended a minimum of one session. It will be free and consist of 4 games. Players will use Death Star II Preconstructed Decks and play 2 LS games and 2 DS games. Each game will have their own private judge only there to make sure players are following the rules (not active judging). If we have 8 or more new players attend we will give out a $100 Top Prize to first place. Tournament #2 will be open to all veteran players. $10 Entry fee and 4 Games Constructed, Differential. $50 of the entry fees will be used to go to the prize of Tournament #1. Any money left over will go to First and Second Place of the Veteran Tournament #2.
At all events mentioned above I plan to broadcast live via the new "Live Facebook" feature.
I'll post updates here.

Re: Minnesota Local Tournament 2016 - Nov. 12th
Hey Everyone!
The LT is this Saturday and I am looking forward to it.
For the past 2 weeks now we've been running Demos at the local store with success. I'm actually considering filming our last session this Friday. We have roughly taught 13+ people how to play, of which I'm going to guess 5 or 6 plan on being there this Saturday. This means we are super close to my goal of 8 new players participating.
Don't forget I'll be broadcasting some of the day live starting at Noon via Live Facebook, under #SWCCGLTW
Good luck to all other LTs. I'm hoping yours go well and attract new players.

Re: Minnesota Local Tournament 2016 - Nov. 12th
LT Tournament Report:
By the Numbers:
10 Veterans
6 New Players
3 Judges
(Side Note: During the Tournament we also had someone walk in wearing a Star Wars shirt, asked what was going on, sat down for a demo and free cards and expressed interest to be at the next one.)
Results: Tournament #1
1. Bryan 6 (+59)
2. Jim 6 (+22)
3. Stew 6 (6 +11)
4. Brando 6 (-4)
5. John 4 (+32)
6. Peter 4 (-45)
7. Charlie 2 (+6)
8. Andy 2 (-6)
9. Brian 2 (-38)
10. Andrew 2 (-53)
New Players: Tournament #2
1. Thomas 8 (+42)
2. Amy 4 (+33)
3. Chris 4 (+20)
4. Nate 4 (-29)
5. Ethan 2 (-41)
6. Truth 0 (-23)
Overview:
Success! - I cannot thank my community more. We had 2+ Volunteers come in nightly for roughly 2 weeks straight. I'm going to estimate putting in 30+ Hours not including what everyone else did to help promote the LT. I gave over 15+ Demonstrations. Six of them to came back to play at the LT (many had work or previous engagements). I think a real measure will be when I meet with the new players again in roughly 3 weeks and see how many of them return.
Overall I feel very positive about the results. If I had to nitpick and find areas of improvement, I would say it is the "low" number of veteran players we had come (12). I think one of the most important things at the LT is to show the new players what they're getting into in terms of community. Let's face it, the best part about Magic is the large number they get to turnout for events. The hardest thing about SWCCG is finding people to play with. So why should new players commit to a new game if there isn't anyone to play with? Which is why it's important to show your current community off at the LT.
Definitely want to also thank the PC for sending out the stuff and helping it be a fun event. Looking forward to a GREAT SEASON!

That was fun. I really enjoyed playing with the Bespin community. It was fun to get to know everyone. I will definently be back for more. I can't wait for the next event.
P.S. Are there gonna be any events before the Bespin MPC?
