Coruscant League 2020 Event #3 (Open) Thread
Event #3 Participants: 14
Jared N
Chris K
Wayne C
Sean L
Bill K
Tom S
Ryan S
Anthony H
Greg S
Chris G
Jarad K
Scott L
Matt S
Matt W
Targeted Schedule:
1st game: M 11/2 - Su 11/8
2nd game: M 11/9 - Su 11/15 (V13 drop sometime in this week?)
3rd game: M 11/16 - Su 11/22
4th game M 11/23 - M 11/30
***Set 13 Impact***
Players may change their decks from Round 1 (Games 1 & 2) to Round 2 (Games 3 & 4).
Virtual Set 13 will presumably be live in Gemp sometime during this event.
I would bet, based on no secret knowledge, that this go-live date will be in the Game 2 window (since Worlds is 4 weeks from 11/8, 3 weeks from 11/15).
The cards will be legal for this Event's games for the first full week following their go-live.
For example, if all of the cards are released on Wednesday, November 11th, nobody may have V13 cards in their decks until Game 3 (11/16-11/22).
*You should remind each other of this when coordinating the games.*
Hopefully bugs with the new cards are minimal since Gemp has been used for Playtesting. If there are any issues, hopefully you can work out a solution with your opponent, but reach out to me if not (which will likely result in a "Please replay the game. You can change your decks." solution).
Foil V-Slip Participation Prize: Insidious Prisoner
Foil V-Slip Event Winner Prize: Invisible Hand
Other: Miscellaneous rares, foil v-slips, Japanese commons/uncommons and poker chips

Reminder bump that deadline for bowing out on Event #3 is Sunday at 7pm. Hopefully all 14 players above are in, though.

With v13 supposedly going live on 11/9, does that mean it will be legal for Game 2?

Re: Coruscant League 2020 Event #3 (Open) Thread
Short answer: Yeah, probably
Long answer:
1) If V13 goes live early, like 11/8 or sooner, that'd work well since people can play their games latter part of the week of 11/9-11/15, after having a few days to build decks.
2) If it goes live sometime on 11/9 - as you asked - knowing most games don't happen on Monday anyway, then we can probably adjust to allow people to play the new cards in Game 2.
3) If V13 still isn't on Gemp by Tuesday, 11/10, by say 9am, it won't be legal until G3.

Re: Coruscant League 2020 Event #3 (Open) Thread
Dark goes 6-1 in Game 1.
Below are the Game 2 matchups.
With V13 hopeful/targeted to drop in the next day or so in Gemp, let's plan for this round to instead span Wednesday 11/11 through Monday 11/16.
Feel free to begin coordinating your game time, but ideally the set drops tomorrow or early Tuesday; players can build a deck Tues/Wed; and then most games take place by the end of the weekend.
Notes/Reminders-
Players will be allowed to switch decks for Games 3/4 vs. what they used in 1/2.
Spectating is permitted among league players.
Open, SOS, play in the Gemp league, yada yada...
Pairings for Game #2
Table #1: Jarad Konsker (Dark) vs Matt Wadden (Light)
Table #2: Greg Shaw (Dark) vs Wayne Cullen (Light)
Table #3: Bill Kafer (Dark) vs Anthony Howard (Light)
Table #4: Tom Sarachan (Dark) vs Matt Sokol (Light)
Table #5: Sean Luhks (Dark) vs Ryan Sersen (Light)
Table #6: Chris Kelly (Dark) vs Chris Gogolen (Light)
Table #7: Scott Lingrell (Dark) vs Jared Napolitano (Light)
