IIRC that is an island without cars.

This x1,000,000.

Although they’d tell you they were just (above) average.

When you are trying to cross a busy street, and you successfully "time" a car passing you, a lot like in the old game Frogger. You attempt to cross, anticipating the speed of the oncoming car will safely pass you by, and you will successfully cross the street. THEN THE DRIVER STOPS IN FRONT OF YOU AND THEN YOU HAVE TO RUN ACROSS AND YOUR RHYTHM IS RUINED.

Irrational because Pittsburgh quietly has a very high rate of pedestrian related traffic incidents.
Pittsburgh drivers are terrible. Criticism of them is never irrational.
I honestly have to blame the Pittsburgh pedestrians more. University of Pittsburgh students especially. They have one-way buslines on campus, and these dumb dumbs only look the direction of the cars, which is a 3 or 4 lane road. So they stand in the busline and only look right. Darwin though.

When you wrote the original pet peeve above I thought you were the pedestrian.

I was...the above observation was from being a bus passenger through Oakland.

Speaking of college students, nobody jaywalks on OSU campus anymore. This means jaywalking is more dangerous and I look like a jerk if I do it.

Beyonce threatening violence in her songs, namely "Don't Hurt Yourself". If she were a UFC fighter and her opponent was "similarly aged American female", i'd take her opponent 80% of the time.

Feel like Lady Gaga can scrap though.

People who repeatedly keep using the word "well" where they should be using "good." I'm not sure when this started, but it just keeps getting worse. Seems like I've noticed it most with Northeast types. People from New York, Philadelphia, etc.

"You see Davante Adams out there, tearing things up against the Vikings?"
"Oh yeah, he's looking well out there, bruh. For sure."

It's like they told somebody "I did good on my test today!" and the person says "You mean you did well" and something in their brain just SNAPPED. And they did a full find & replace for all instances where they would use the word "good." And then it spread to their friends, and their friends' friends...

Please make it stop.

Oh yeah, that's cringe-worthy.

Playing well. Looking good.

Playing good or looking well would be annoying.

So hunter knows people who say "Oh yeah, he's looking well out there, bruh. For sure." But not anyone that pronounces SNES "Ess En E Ess"?

FWIW, it is possible for 'well' to be correct in the context you listed above.

For example, if Davante Adams was ill, but is not showing any signs of it, you might say he is 'looking well'.

Having said that, it's unlikely that was the intent of the person saying it.
