The earliest recorded version of the rhyme is from 1698, and has pat a cake. The next appearance is in Mother Goose's Melody (c. 1765) which uses patty cake.

So both have been around since before the Declaration of Independence.

Ordered food from a restaurant and one of the vegan options was listed as Carrots with Sunflower "Honey" (honey in quotation marks, as listed on the menu) Then realized, "oh yeah, of course honey isn't vegan". But yeah, never acknowledged it as such and felt like a silly goose.

PS: I am not vegan. (felt the need to acknowledge this)

1. I didn't know this thread was a place to judge other peoples pet peeves. Don't be a dick.

2. Is it obvious? Lots of countries don't observe daylight savings time, or people forget. I've had it add to confusion. If YOUR* going to be fancy to try and put in your time zone, put in the right one.

It absolutely makes a difference when working with people around the world. I work with internationally based translators and if I tell them the deadline for something right now is 12:00 PM EDT and they're in India, they'll look up what 12:00 PM EDT is in Indian time and it will give them a different time than what I actually want (12:00 PM EST).

in 99% of cases we experience, yes it's going to be obvious.
