[TPK] Total Party Kill events & English Rulebook

Post by DDM »

For those who are at worlds, there will be on Friday and Sunday a table set up for Total Party Kill (my own board game creation).

All players will receive a copy this year as part of prize support to celebrate for so many americans coming in, so for the sake of information, here is the post I made last year about what is the game about:

and here, you can download the English Rule book in PDF:

Catch me if you want to have a demo of the game!!!

Or better yet, just ban DDM from playing creatures.

and by the way, the fantasy comics which are on the table are "free" for reading. As long as you don't bring them away. :-D

So if one were unable to attend Worlds, but was planning a trip to Vincenza in February, could one arrange to get a demo/buy a copy of this? You know, just in case anyone fits in that category.

Vincenza is not very far from Milano. Sure, no problem. :)
Just to understand how to get the game to you! :)

This the Bulgarian rewiew of the game:

http://bigboxgamers.com/total-party-kill-review/

They loved it.

You can use google translate to read it.
In general, if the PC or anyone knowledgeable of youtube would be willing, once learned the game, to make a cool video review, that would help a lot. :)

Eric, my fiancee Dawn, and I played this one night over the holiday. First game took about an hour as we were learning the mechanics. Second game only lasted three or four turns because the Korns are OP. The final game lasted over 3 hours because we three are each competitive, smart, and stubborn individuals. No one wanted to play kingmaker. Korns and Anjin seem best because of the ongoing tutoring they have. Dwarves seem the least consistent. I haven't played with the elves yet.

Some questions for anyone that might know:
On BGG, DDM said there were plans for an expansion w/ 2 more factions. Any news on that front?
Can you level a card past level 2?
When a character (or keep) is level 2 can you still choose to use the level 1 power?
The rules state you should exhaust a card as a reminder that the power was used. How does that work for ongoing powers?
Does the phrase weaken mean "-1 sword unless otherwise defined"?

Sorry for the late answer :D

Well, I have it in testing / beta. Not sure it's ever going to see the light soon due to issues with the company who is producing TPK however.

Can you level a card past level 2?

No. Max Level is the one written on a card.

When a character (or keep) is level 2 can you still choose to use the level 1 power?

Of course.

The rules state you should exhaust a card as a reminder that the power was used. How does that work for ongoing powers?

Ongoing powers are never "exhausted", because they are ongoing.

Does the phrase weaken mean "-1 sword unless otherwise defined"?

No it doesn't.
it means of course you're going to lose swords. How many is defined on the card usually.
Any specific example ?
